Thanks for asking Tammy! I was giving the Cymbalta a full 2 weeks to "kick in" before I gave an update. But, I must say, they are definately helping! I'm not a sobbing mess as I was. My appt. with the counselor is tomorrow. But, the med. he gave me to sleep is NOT working. I'm still up at all hours of the night. I'll have to let them know tomorrow and see if they can change it or something. Again, thanks for thinking of me, that is sooo sweet.

Chiming in, to let you know, jamie, I'm thinking of you as well.

My spine MD gave me Gabapentine mg to help me sleep. It is actually an anti-seizure medicine or something. I can take it along my my anxiety medicine do that is good. The gabapentine does not "knock me out" but it eases me toward sleep. Gabpentine is not supposed to be habit forming like many sleep aids. I am slowly coming off of it now and so far so good. Hopefully, will be completely off by my next office visit.

Maybe there is a non-traditional sleep aid the counselor could recommend.

I've been using pillow mist from Bath and Body Works.

I also take gabapentin for leg pain,and it helps me sleep. I can really tell the difference if I forget to take it. Hope you're feeling better, Jamie!

A benadryl helps my dh sleep! I'm glad to hear you're feeling a little better Jamie!

Glad to hear you are feeling better, sometimes antidepressants can cause problems with your sleep. They may have to do a little tweaking for you.

You are moving in the right direction and thats great! The only thing I can offer in the sleep dept is buying a snuggie! I have a real hard time staying awake if I am reading or watching tv with one on. Its been too hot for months to use it lately, but it will be a hypnotic effect when I take it back out.

I'm very glad to hear the Cymbalta is working for you! Let us hear what they can prescribe for sleep. Many people take Klonopin for a short time, then wean off it. I take Ambien 5 mg -- actually I tend to 'nibble' it! Don't often require the full 5 mg. While it's good to have a healthy respect for drugs, don't let that keep you from taking what you are prescribed now. It won't be 'forever'!

Oh, I'm so happy to hear you're doing better!! And when you get the sleep problem licked you'll feel even better. I think sleep and lack of affects our mental state more than most of us realize. I hope your meeting with the counselor goes well today too.
