In the mood to purge again!

This afternoon, I finally gathered my vintage chenille bedspreads and several old Matelasse (thanks KT'ers-see my other blanket post)spreads out of the armoire and bagged them up for the church rummage sale this month.

I had been wanting to do this for so long, as I never use them anymore and they were stacked in the bottom of the armoire getting musty from non-use. There was about 10-12 really pretty ones in all colors, most gently worn, as I had bought them in antique shops over the years. The Matelasse were a bit frayed about the edges from being washed so often but they are still serviceable.Really didn't think I had the nerve to part with them all, but now I'm glad I did. Mom says she bets they will be snapped up at the rummage sale.

So....went to ElderBeerman's big sale today and bought three of their micro-fiber comforters on sale - any size for $24.95. Plus a pack of Ralph Laurent pillows for $15.

I already have a lightweight Ralph Laurent comforter plus a heavy weight one, but I needed a blanket or two. I didn't care for EB's choice of blankets, but found a cheaper cotton blanket on the way home at KMart on sale for $13. EB wanted $50 for their cotton blankets! probably better quality tho. Didn't like the look of the fleece blankets at all, stores don't carry ordinary blankets anymore? The EB micro-fiber comforters are thin enough to be used as blankets anyway I'm thinking.

Now my armoire looks pretty spiffy. Smells much better too!

It's good to purge once in awhile.
