Today was grocery shopping day with Amber and Alyssa. Lunch was Wendy's. I had some kind of grilled chicken salad with pecans, craisins, and apples and assorted lettuce. It also had blue cheese. Either I don't like blue cheese or theirs was bad, so I did not enjoy it at all. Supper was early as I was hungry, Spam sandwich, baked potato, and applesauce. I had not had Spam in some years. It was good. I just browned it in the skillet. I sure hope you get to have a nice Thanksgiving Patti, keeping my fingers crossed for you and a little prayer too.

I would have skipped the celery rather than make a second trip to the grocery store! I sure hope you will have your Thanksgiving dinner. Tonight we will have chicken tempura and salad.

I probably would have skipped the celery too, but it does make a nice crunch and yummy taste in chicken salad. It just wouldn't have been the same.

I'm making the brats with red/yellow/orange/green bell peppers and onion. Served with spaghetti with marinara and parmesan. I get the peppers when they're on sale, clean and slice them and put them in a gallon Ziploc bag in the freezer for when I want them. Gosh, they taste good with just a bit of charring along with the brats.

Patti, More good news on your health. That is fantastic to hear.

Dinner was a easy one hot dogs & french fries.

Had to get our hair cut today & then we came home & hubby cut the grass once again. He hopes this is the last time. What a year for grass cutting. I tried to cut down some flowers but my ankle started to hurt so I stopped.

Great news Patti! I'm sure hoping you can eat real food for Thanksgiving.

I made a potato soup today. As usual, I don't measure the ingredients, just chop up a bunch of carrots, onions and celery, and potatoes. It was a pretty orange colour, because of the number of carrots :)

I wizzed it with my immersion blender and we had that with turkey sandwiches. It was easy, and delicious.

My place is fixing to smell good! Just put two loaves of pumpkin in to bake. My yearly gift to advisor, one for the office and one for home.

Golden Corral, today! Don't know why I go there. One by me, is oh so so so!

I had an out of town dr appt which ran very long. Too tired to cook anything so had some canned corned beef hash, a couple of scrambled eggs and some sliced beets.

Glad to hear the good news, Patti. I, too, would have run back out to the store for the celery. DH says I cannot entertain without making 32 trips to the grocery store. I sometimes race out while he's walking the dog ...I so hate it when he's right!

Glenda, I'm not a Golden Corral lover either. We usely hit once a year (on the way to Florida).

We went out for lunch today. DH had the fried oysters this time (wish I had) I had the ultimate fish sandwich. It sounded so good on the menu but was just okay. At least I don't have to make dinner. We then went to the movies to see Gravity. DH wasn't that crazy about it and I thought it was good but not necessarily a must see like some of my friends said.

Leftover bean and cabbage soup for him. I am not very hungry so maybe just cereal or yogurt or a smoothie.

Really no clue...Kam has a band concert..have to pick him up early from football practice..run him home for a shower and concert wear..then to the HS.

Dinner could be reheated leftovers, fried hotdogs or sandwiches..

Thanks, all. Sure wish I felt as good as they say I'm doing! But I'm getting stronger--couldn't have made that chicken salad two weeks ago, much less the second trip to the store. Dr. told me I wouldn't wake up one morning and suddenly be able to eat. Rather, it wil happen gradually. I'm so darned impatient.

Sue, I'm not a big fan of blue cheese either. I love a good homemade BC salad dressing, though. I haven't had Spam or years. Back in the '70's when they had the meat boycott and people gave up meat for a week, we had Spam one night.

Jean, that sounds good. Around here they sell like one each red, yellow and green pepper together and call it "stop light peppers".

Mary, hopefully that will be the last mowing for this year. I need a haircut but she's so far away I've been putting it off. Plus, Iost more than a little bit at the nape of my neck and up in the back so I'm trying to let the layers grow out. I'm at the last one so I guess I'll just keep whacking at it myself for a while.

Jasdip, I'd love your soup--wish we were closer 'cause I'd come begging at your door :-) And I'm so ready for leftover turkey. (with lots of gravy)

Glenda, great minds think alike. I picked up a can of pumpkin for bread this morning. I don't like our GC either. I will say one thing for GC. They have one heck of a good breakfast. I love those warm cinnamon rolls!

Shirley, it sure pays to keep some quick things in the pantry for days like you had today. Thanks for the beet reminder. I just love them and have a jar of pickled beets that I keep thinking might taste good.

Georgysmom, it sounds like you are having a great time on vacation. I would've had the fried oysters (again), too. It's something I don't do at home. Keep on enjoying!!

Terri, you always magically come through with dinners that sound good! Don't know how you manage with all the running you have to do with those active guys of yours!

I had a couple of skinless chicken breasts that I sauteed in some butter, then made some chicken salad. Simple, just added celery, HB egg, green onion, and chopped pecans. We did wraps with crunchy romaine leaves and soft whole wheat tortillas.
