What's for dinner Tuesday?

I made a pot of zuppa toscana today. I found a recipe for cheese muffins that sounds good, so I'll make those before we eat. The whole house smells of garlic from the soup!

Deep dish pizza from Costco, I have never seen this kind before, it is fresh made in their deli and looks wonderful. We shall see.

Went to Joel's where Linda and I met last week.

Went for a veggie plate: spinach casserole, cajun corn (yummy) and a squash croquette. That was it!

That sounds so good, terri! Actually, everyone's supper (or lunch) sounds good. Robert asked for oven baked chicken pieces again. I basted the legs and thighs with a doctored BBQ sauce (added tobacco and apple vinegar) for the first half, then made a glaze out of that plus apricot preserves. It is sooooooo good! Sweet, sour, and spicy. Also made a batch of cheese biscuits and my cole slaw. He was a happy man! I'm always glad when he actually asks for something in particular....he helps with supper, by the way. He likes kitchen duty.

I've only been up an hour or so, and saw this thread and couldn't believe so many had already planned dinner. You'all got me. DH is gone for some days, so easy-peasy meals on the agenda here. Boca Burger last night.... most likely a salad and B-Burger again tonight. Beautiful Central Coast Strawberries for snack/desert. Does that make me first today????? I'm keeping my eye on the white flowers all over the Strawberry bed here!

We're both off work the rest of the week. This morning, we did some shopping & I worked on the living room Christmas tree this afternoon & evening. We've settled in for the night to watch Sleepy Hollow (it's filmed near us!). For dinner, we had a salad (spinach, pears, Trader Joe's cranberry goat cheese, and blood orange vinaigrette) with French onion soup. We're having crazy weather. Sunday & Monday were clear but in the 40's. Today was in the low 70's & rainy. Tomorrow will be the same. Thursday is supposed to be back in the the 40's again.

We finished up the leftover scalloped potatoes. They taste even better the following day (or so). Made sausages and red sauce (browned sausages served with a red sauce of ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, worcestershire and mustard, onions and celery). Broccoli on the side.

Today I was running around with Cheryl. First thing we took her dog KC and left him to be groomed. Then on to breakfast at Cracker Barrel. My breakfast was apple strudel french toast, fried bacon, scrambled eggs and unsweetened iced tea. Then we shopped around the rest of the time until time to pick him up after four this evening. No lunch but had supper of a ham and cheese sandwich and root beer. I can go to bed anytime now. Tomorrow is another run around day!

Yum, boiled cabbage, which we love, with sausages and potatoes. Hubby loves the red sauce on the sausages so I had to make that.

I was cooking up stuff for the freezer--made a half gallon of cheese sauce, and turned a peck of Crispins into applesauce. So dinner was: Mac and cheese with oven roasted tomatoes mixed in, applesauce and some cheddar garlic biscuits (mix I found at the Amish mkt that I wanted to try--too much of that 'fake' garlic taste to suit me. Won't buy that again).

Had a big lunch after golf today a d I'm playing bridge tonight so I will just grab an Activia. DH has already been notified that he's on his own. There's some leftover chili in the fridge or he can make himself a BLT.

Raven, let us know how you like the pizza. We don't have a Costco here, but a lot of people do and may want to try it. I'd like it because there's no work involved 'cept preheating the oven!!

Glenda, I'm going to try to get us back on at least one meatless meal a week if I can figure out something besides grits or oatmeal :-) I'd love some of that spinach.

Sue, glad to see you out of the kitchen. Your breakfast/brunch sounds delicious. Sleep good and have fun tomorrow, too.

We like that meal, too, Jasdip. I just hate trying to get rid of the cabbage smell. How can anything taste so good and smell so good while it's cooking--and then :-(

I BBQ'd the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin with the rub (todays Sharing recipe thread). I used brown sugar, grainy dijon mustard and cinnamon. OMG! It was sooooo gooooood! Next time, I'll just regular Dijon mustard, to see what the difference might be. Who knew that cinnamon could be used like that for a savory dish?

Azzalea, I didn't know you could freeze cheese sauce! I should do that since it would be so handy for broccoli--which we love. Learn something new everyday at the KT!

Georgysmom, you had another busy and fun-filled day, you lucky girl!!

Cheryl, I've never made Mulligan stew. I'll have to google a recipe unless you want to share yours :-)

Monica, I wonder why I think sliders are better tasting than regular sandwiches? Those sound good!

Luckygardnr, I read your recipe yesterday. It sure sounded good, but then I would eat a cow patty with bacon on it :-)

We had BBQ ribs, steamed rice and corn. The remainder of the ribs were frozen to take on our trip.

the pizza was great, It comes in a deep aluminum pan it is about 1 1/2 to 2" thick takes an hour to cook fully. It is a LOT of pizza! I had one piece and couldn't quite finish it.
I would buy it again. It is in the refrigerated section with the fresh prepared meals. I believe it was $9.99.

Glad the pizza was all that RC. I'm going to make probably one of the last "garden pizzas" tonight.

Patti, I thought I mentioned what had for dinner last night. Nothing big, a little stir fry. Chicken breast w/garden veggies. It's that garden time of year. lol
