Need help with abc books

I'm having ABC books made for the twins. For each letter I have a picture of the child and something that begins with that letter.

I still need these letters for Preston - N,Q,R,U,V,X,Y,Z

I still need these letters for Madisyne - N,Q,R,V,X,Y,Z

Any suggestions?

N = noodles or nickle
Q = quilt or quail
R = rabbit or rain
U = umbrella
I like noodles and quilt, good luck. I'm sure other KT er's will have lots of ideas.

Has anyone read "Waltzing at the Piggly Wiggly" by Ron Dolby? I just ordered it for .20 on Amazon, a hardcover. He has three more Piggly Wiggly books and if I like waltzing I will order the rest. Obviously, it doesn't depend on the cost. (lol) I also ordered "She flew the Coop" and "Consuming Passions" both by Michael Lee West". I love southern novels and I see you do too Mitchdesj.

We had a friend years ago that was a butcher and had some horrific stories from slaughter houses. He always would say that the terrified animal pumped "poison" throughout it's body. He didn't really mean poison but that the animal's body was full of harmful toxins because it did know what was going to happen. We, in turn, would ingest this junk. He says all you have to do is look into the eyes of the animal as it was being lined up and you could tell that the animal could smell death. I am not a vegetarian all-the-way. I do eat some fish and chicken though not often. I love vegetarian food, though. Tofu, meatless patties etc... are favorites of mine.

That sounds like a great idea-a photo of the child with an item starting with each letter of the alphabet. Cool! I'll remember that for some future day when I get to be a grandmother.

Betsy, it is a fun project. The twins birthday is the 23rd and 2 days later is Christmas. And they have everything! So it makes it hard to come up with gifts. So 2 years ago I made photo books at Shutterfly.com after Steph told us about it. DS and DIL had a birthday party for the twins and lots of kids came. DIL told me that the books were the hit of the party. So I decided to do the ABC books this year for their BD.

I was on dial-up when I did the first books, but now I have high-speed wireless. Sure make it faster!

Maryann, that brought back memories for me. I made a book for my daughter when she was little, but in it, I cut out pictures of animals on our place. I remember a couple of the poems.

"In our pond lives a turtle named Bert.
If he bit you, I bet it would hurt.
If in the water you dangle your toes,
Watch the angle, and please stay on alert!"

We had a snapping turtle named Bert that lived in one of our ponds.

"This cow is black but some cows are brown.
She lives in a barn on the outside of town."

It was so much fun to make the book for her.
