Mmmnnnn, sounds so good. I was thinking split pea this morning too but it's not going to happen today, I have a piece of ham left I'd like to use though.

May have to freeze it. But it's absolutely pouring down rain and would have been a great soup day. Enjoy yours...

I have leftover split pea soup in my refrigerator right now. I don't have all those extras in mine but it surely does taste good.

Sounds great. We are having beautiful weather right now, can actually have the windows and doors open, but still using ac in general.
I have shrimp chowder on the menu for this week, probably tomorrow night.

I made my first pot of soup for the season today, too. I'm trying a new recipe, it's called Lasagna Soup. Smells good. Will get to try it tomorrow night along with
Raven's no knead bread from the recipe post. The bread won't be baked until tomorrow. I think tomorrow I will defrost my freezer in the garage so I can start loading it up with soups for the winter. I like cooking in the cooler months.

Chilly weather is good reason for soup, but not a reason to celebrate. Hmmmm, the base for my ham bone soup, is ham, not chicken.

OF, I made the 'ham bone soup ' with a big hambone simmered in.....chicken broth or stock. :-)

That sounds wonderful! It's still pretty warm here, mostly in the 70's during the day, so I haven't made any soup yet. It is getting chilly in the evenings now, so I'm thinking of making chicken tortilla soup this weekend.

Sounds good. I just might have to make soup this week too. I have a ham bone in the freezer and a cabbage that needs to be cooked. I could eat homemade soup everyday.

I bought a big package of smoked boneless pork chop pieces and I am thinking great for soup and beans. I think I will be loading up the slow cooker with one or both this week.

I just saw a great looking recipe using cabbage, we love cabbage. I will post it on the recipe thread for the other cabbage lovers.

I think that creamy cauliflower soup will be next. I load my version up with carrots, celery, and onions but none of the cheese that others like.

Anyone have a vegetarian soup recipe? Adding chicken boullion cubes would be OK, I just don't want floating meat. Something hot and savory sounds good lately. I don't care for cream soups but potato and leek sounds good if there's no meat. I'm a lousy cook so please be kind !
