Karen - do you want the tomato seeds I harvested from my grape tomato and Stupice fruit last year? I've got about 3 trades' worth I could send you. I accidentally spilled them on my desk so they may be mixed together but once they take off, you'll know which is which--the grape tomatoes (from Diane's Flower Seeds) grew 9 ft. tall last year. I think the seaweed extract/worm poop tea I fed them might have been part of the reason they grew so tall. Anyway, they're yours for postage.

Congratulations! When our state was working on changing the laws a few years back..one of our HS teachers was out with pamplets and a signature board.. She asked my husband and I if we would sign our names. I am all about equality..so I grabbed the pen...signed and handed it back..my husband grabbed the pen and said, "I'm all for everyone knowing the pain of marriage, and being just as miserable as everyone else." With a straight face..she didn't know what to say..lol...then he gave her a big grin...the color came back in her face..

Hi Catherine Woohoo - I am jumping for joy! All lifers for me - it is so wonderful to have seen them. I will go early in the season next time. Right now the corn (yes, they do have corn fields within the NWR) is so very high that we cannot spot the birds easily. It was a bit of luck in that it was very hot and humid there yesterday and the birds were closer to the ground trying to cool off. This NWR has wetlands for the most part and I will go to see some waterfowl next time. I was only there for one hour and to do it justice, I need at least a couple of days! Thanks so very much shyamala

After a 13-wk absence (except for the odd post) I am finally back home. No hostas in Dubai.....but I have some plans brewing in my head for the not too distant future, lol! Poolside at the Ritz, this past Wednesday, temperature 28-29C(winter in Dubai) around 4 p.m. Landing in Toronto around 3:30 aftn two days later - 13 1/2-hr flight I'm home! Brrrrrr Some pots frozen and snow covered on deck that I have to lay on sides yet. This is a great post! The photos are fabulous, starting with Sunnywood's and ending with Bruce's! Came home to find new AHS Journal amongst some mail. So excited, I ripped cellophane off and got into it ASAP. DAN, your Skywriter is the best picture in the Journal!!! I hope we Canadians don't have to wait too long to obtain one! I would buy two for myself immediately! Stunning, gorgeous, beautiful hosta. Glad to be back home....so glad to get into the forum too. Missed all of you. :-) Jo

justlinda what a cute thing to do! I have to agree it does look like a heart.

sheilajoyce, yep they are matching rings we had made about ten years ago.

Also, it was the clerk's idea to do the ring shot. We hadn't even thought about it.

We treated the students at the Modern Maturity Center where we teach to cake today and they surprised us by throwing rose petals at us. Got a big kick out of that.

It does look like a heart - I never would have noticed without the rotation. How nice that the clerk suggested taking the photo.

Congrats to both of you. It's been a long time coming. You must have been surprised with the rose petals.

Lovely photo! I'm so happy for you both - and wishing you many years of married bliss.

I'm also very happy the one nasty negative comment was removed.

Thank you everyone.

I didn't notice the nasty remark had been removed. I usually skipped over it. I figure it wasn't worth my time to let it bother me and was easier to just ignore it.
