I heard that this morning and thought it was funny. Why do chip bags need to be quiet unless you're trying to hide the fact that you're eating chips?

Good. I hate all the noise pollution around me. The green movement has gone too far with these bags. Glad the idea backfired.

There are videos on the loudness of these bags. It hurt my ears to listen to them on low volume.

I love Sun Chips but haven't bought them since the "green" bag came out. Actually I am boycotting anything that says "green" on it for the sake of advertising.

Hiding an addiction?

How about taking the empty bag back to the store?

Some time ago, while walking along a city street, near a Wendy's, I picked up several of their containers that had been discarded and took them back to the store, on my return trip.

I offered them to the lady at the counter, wearing latex gloves.

She told me that if she took them, she'd have to discard her gloves/clean her hands ... that I should take them outside and throw them into the trash container.

I told her that they had come from there, that I didn't feel that it was my responsibility to not only pick up but to discard their trash ...

... and that she had a choice ... she could take them in her hand and be required to discard the gloves ... or I could place them on the counter, and then she'd have that to clean up, as well.

She was not impressed with me.

I should have asked to speak to the manager on duty and offered her/him the same alternative.

P.S. I live within two miles of a large city's recently acquired dump ... but that's a four-letter word.

I bought some of those and I don't think I've ever heard a noisier bag. It was awful. It was a nice thought just not executed very well.

Hahaha, it really is a noisy bag, but it didn't bother me. I appreciate the effort. The Sun Chips plant is Solar Powered, having bio degradable bags seems like a no-brainer.

Love sun chips, and not aware of the noise, cause I am more interested in eating them.

Don't get Sun Chips too often since the French Onion is the flavor I like and they're getting scarce around here. The last times I've had Sun Chips have been in the smaller bags. They're still the same bags as always. I've seen their "natural" chips or whatever they call them in a different bag but never noticed on Sun Chips. Guess I didn't really look since I seldom see what I want, when I want it. I don't know what the big deal would be. All snack bags are noisy. Aren't people getting a little oversensitive? And people complain about bags, filling landfills, yada yada then complain about bag noise too? Get a hobby people.

So, Joyful, are you also taking the apple peels, peach pits, corn husks, meat bones, grizzle, grease and the like back to the farmers and telling them to take care of it? After all, didn't it come from them? :)

I do like Sun Chips and after eating them at our DD's house decided to buy them from now on instead of potato chips.

When I brought that first bag home, I found all that noise to be very irritateing. I haven't bought them again. I guess that puts me amoung those who avoid by the noise.
I'll have to check the bags next time I go to the store, cause I really like the chips.

I think that's ridiculous. Bravo to Sun-Chip for making a compostable bag and boo hiss to the oversensitive people who care more about themselves than the environment.

We serve them on the plane to first class as a treat...no one has complained about the noise...I bought some for the kids and they are delish...kids didn't complain about the noise either!

Woody bought a bag of those and the first thing I noticed was how incredibly noisy it was. I'm sensitive to noise as it is, so I knew I'd never buy them again.

Ditto what Mom24 said. I don't eat chips, but I'm definitely in the minority. When you consider the gazillion chips bags that end up in landfills......

I have eaten Sun Chips, never noticed the noise, maybe it was before they went to noisy bags. I can't imagine a noise bothering me! If it is such a problem and you like the chips, put them in something else?

OK, after reading all these posts, it made me want to get some Sun Chips. I did need a few other things, so I popped down to Kroger's and bought a bag. OMG that bag is loud!!! I've never seen anything like it. But the chips are good. You guys are better than commercials on tv to get me to buy a product!!

After all the hoopla, I was in a store today and felt compelled to grab a bag and see what the drama was about. Yes, it's a different tone, but sheesh, talk about much ado about nothing! Louder? LOL Get real people. I just can't believe the things over which people get so distressed. Transfer to a different container if it's so d@mn offensive. Maybe a reusable container? Coffee can? Dump them in your lap and call Rover to lap them up?
