Oooohhh, I haven't had one of those brownies in a long time...may need to try them again :) I remember a looonnnggg time ago in my hippie days growing a large crop of that special "lettuce" in an old car that broke down. Used to clean out some seeds from that lettuce and some must have fallen on the floor. The car broke down and was parked out in the back lot...months later there was lots of green stuff growing! It made the perfect greenhouse. Wow we had an awesome party that night and the next and the next.... Too bad the lettuce I have growing in the basement is not the special kind. Thanks very much for the welcome! I am really excited and looking forward to being part of this little group in 2007. Maryanne/earthly, I am so pleased that you remember me and still have some of the items I sent you in 2005. I was involved heavily in the Round Robin Exchange that year, and at the end of the year, I was just burned out! I needed to take the year off. But now I'm back and raring to go! Actually, one reason why I joined is because, after the Christmas I just had, I needed a little pick-me-up. This was basically the year without a Christmas. I got sick with the flu the week before Christmas, but we still decided to go down to visit my DS in Pennsylvania. BUT on Christmas morning at about 5:30 a.m., the cell phone awakened us with the news that my MIL had been found by the neighbors the night before collapsed on her kitchen floor. She'd had a stroke and was in the hospital. My DH is British, and so of course, MIL lives in England. So......we had to spend Christmas day driving home from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts, so that DH could pick up his passport and book a flight home to England. Christmas dinner was a McDonald's chicken sandwich and fries at a rest stop on I-95. Anyway, DH is still there and I'm home alone. She's in her 80s, so the prognosis is for only a limited recovery. Well, that's my sad story, sorry it's such a downer. You all have so much fun on this exchange board, I thought joining would be just the pick-me-up I need! Alison

I would ask.I wouldn't want to accidentally dig up any bones. I have 5 dogs buried outside my back fence.They are all little dogs and have markers on their graves and if I ever leave here will probably stay buried. DD buried her little Chi at the house where they were renting when she died.When she moved she dug her up (her DH had made a nice wood box for her) and moved her to a spot down by the pond.Last year it rained a lot and the pond level got dangerously close to the grave so she moved her to higher ground.LOL They are renting and plan to buy a house within the next couple of years and she will move her again at that time.

Yoo hoo golddust ~ Welcome to the other side LOL. I'm Nora from mid New York State. I've been married for 20 years and we have a 26 yo DS. DH and I got together when Eli was a little over 4 years old and we married when he was six. There is definitely truth in nurture vs. nature because they are like two peas in a pod ;o) We live on 7 idyllic acres in a small hamlet in southern Dutchess County with our pug, Tootie, and kitties Bitsy and Bundles. DS and his GF live in a cottage on our property, which is a blessing. We love to renovate anything that isn't nailed down and it seems that we're in a constant state of flux (no pun intended considering your metier). We also love to garden, which we do with fervor, though not always with as much success as we'd like. The earth tells us what it needs and most of the time we pay attention. But when we don't we learn early on that we should have listened to Mother Nature. Welcome!!
