Yes, mine too. The biggest change seems to be that "Conversation Thread mode" (where any email exchange with another person gets stacked together rather than being shown separately) is the default setting.

If yours is that way and you don't like it, you can change it back by clicking on the gear symbol at upper right then:

Settings
Viewing Email
Uncheck the box at Enable Conversations
Then - Save

If you do that, it will look and act mostly as before.

Sounds like Yahoo is going the way of GMail with the conversation mode.

I don't like the changes so I reset it to Basic. It worked fine for me before and I don't see any reason to change it. I still prefer it over gmail, although I can't say why. Since I use Firefox, I don't get the jiggling, dancing ads.

Didn't care for the new style at all. I sometimes think the techies get carried overboard a bit.

Reminds me of that old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Even though I have switched back to Basic, the features are not the same. What a pain. If it weren't such a nuisance to change, I would.

I agree that it isn't the same, but at least it is much better than what they had done. I think we will adjust with a bit of time.

I was furious when I see that they changed to mimic Gmail. I don't use Gmail because I don't like the conversation format.

And of course I sent email to the wrong people because I couldn't reply to one individual in the string of emails.

Now it's back to normal.

I also don't like the white background, nor the way the folders are hidden until you click Folders.

I HATE the Send button at the bottom when you compose your email. I use Ctrl and Enter and it sends my email.

To be "furious" is a bit of an overreaction, don't you think? These are free services, if you don't like one, there are a dozen or more alternatives to try.

I'm not sure if you're saying you know this or not, but the same "turn off conversation mode" discussed above for Yahoo mail can also be done with Gmail's web access system (though not with its Android app, the work around is to use a generic mail app). If you don't like how Gmail appears, change it.

I've had my Yahoo addy for years, and it's my primary email for a number of things and people. I don't feel like finding a new email program, and I have tried others. Gmail and hotmail for instance.

Who's to say that any new one that one finds doesn't change a format that isn't as user-friendly or what I would want, either?

Yes, but a different problem. On Friday Oct. 11 we went to Ottawa for Thanksgiving. We returned yesterday, Oct. 14 and all e-mails received post Aug. 5 were gone - and still are. I called our Internet provider and they couldn't fix it either so now I have a "ticket number" and I should hear from someone within 48 hours. I also now have a new password. Whoever calls is going to have to quote the ticket number to me otherwise I will be calling back - enough problems with the Windows spammers calling - especially when I needed calls due to Windows 8. I used to have Outlook Express with my XP computer, now I am just using Yahoo - but I have Internet 10 - not 9 which apparently is causing a few problems.

I also liked the Tabs when reading your emails. You could have a number of messages in tabs to go back and forth. They got rid of the tabs yet it was a selling feature when it was devised in the previous version.

I'm a moderator of some Yahoo Groups and don't get me started on the new version of those! We mods can't search or type in a reason when a post is rejected, and often the posts don't show up for days after being approved.

jasdip - Losing the Oct. e-mails in your Sent is similar to what happened to me - except I lost everything from Aug. 5 to Oct. 14. Rogers - despite 3 attempts couldn't help me. AND last night the issues raised by original OP took place - a disaster. I am going to try the fix suggested above, but since I have the added problem of using Windows 8 and Internet 10 I am not hopeful. Deleting and opening a message is very difficult - replying - well, I don't have a 'send' button after I type my reply.

Maybe the "save sent messages" setting isn't what you want?

Click on the gear symbol, then Settings, then Writing Email, and confirm that the box for "Save a Copy of the message" is checked.

Snidely, I found that out the other day. I checked and it wasn't checked. I have never unchecked it, so don't know what happened.

Eccentric, I hate the SEND button being at the bottom of the email, so I always do CTRL and ENTER, which sends my messages.

Maybe they had the digital equivalent of a fumble in transitioning some old style accounts to the new page style?

My experience is that Yahoo has been uncharacteristically erratic in the past month or two. Broken links, unresponsive clicks, etc. I know there's a lot of turmoil going on, many reorgs and people coming and going. But who knows?

That's odd. The new Yahoo Mail transitioned via an automatic update on my android phone, but not on my PC. I've still got the old Yahoo mail style here.

I can't log into Yahoo today. It keeps denying my password and when I try to reset it, it says the answer to my question is wrong. It's where my mother was born - it's not wrong. Wonder if my account has been hacked.

It hasn't been hacked. It did the same thing to me on my phone when it first changed. It wouldn't let me log in. Acted all sorts of
stupid. It should fix itself.

chi83 I had the same problem with our Internet/Cable provider re the password. Our provider asked me the trick question - and really there was only one possible answer and he told me I was wrong! I even asked my husband who can't remember any passwords and he immediately knew what it was. I went so far as to look up the original paperwork I had printed - I was right of course - this is one instance that I knew I was right (and I remember passwords and trick questions).
