Harry's cousin, Burma, visits; Photos

I can't remember if I posted photos of Burma's visit or not. I know I posted photos of Rhonda, the retired military working dog, and her two visits.

Burma is also German Shepard. She belongs to my cousin, Masha, who lives in Minneapolis. Rather than spend several weeks in a boring kennel, Rhonda spent most of the summer with us. She had a blast; I'm not so sure about Harry.

Rhonda's about 2 years old, and very much a "puppy" still. She's a real sweetheart and was so easy to blend into our home.

Since Wes considers all dogs to be here for the sole purpose of hunting, he set about showing Rhonda that life isn't all about "people protection;" there's room for FUN! He had her retrieving duck dummies and starting to do water retrieves before the visit was over. By next summer's visit she'll be pointing and retrieve pheasants. LOL

Anyway, here's some shots and Harry, very patiently, having to be with Rhonda in the field. Harry was not amused at having to deal with an overly active, huge, alpha female puppy. He knows there's a reason they're called "britches."

Here they are after a romp on the prairie. Rhonda flushed some birds, but they weren't really out to "hunt," Wes just wanted them to have a long run.

Burma, like Rhonda, has so much hair! Wes brushed and Furminated her daily just to keep up with it. He decided to try the vacuum on her; she loved it and it did help with the hair control.

Harry thought it was all very wrong; and he isn't having any part of being vacuumed. He kept pushing the tennis ball on Wes trying to get him to stop messing with Burma and put his attention on the dog that needed it. LOL

Harry's hunting birds and Burma's hunting Harry! He was stalking birds; she stalked him and just as he'd go to point, she'd jump on him. It was a hoot for everyone, except Harry.

"Burma did it; Burma did it. She's bad; I'm good!"

This nasty, horrible carpet will be gone when we start work on the kitchen.
