mmqchdygg, that's funny! Good thing he has a good sense of humor, threaten that if he sits still too long, he's fair game too! I don't want to tell you what to do, but want to tell you about a regret I had with smashing plates with a hammer. I did a LOT before I read the posts here about the wheeled nippers. Now I wish I had waited until I bought a pair! I now can nip just the parts into the shape I want, don't have the lump of the "footer" from the bottom, everything lays flat, and am SOOO happy with them! "Leponitt" is the brand that comes highly recommended from this site, and they are worth their weight in GOLD once you try them. About $20-25 online. Ignore the unasked for advice if you want to though, just thought I'd share my regret! Also, I'm talking plates here, you can still smash away on vases and the like, then nip to size if you like! They also cut glass when you cut it into strips first! Maybe I should become a salesman for them!!
