How is everyone today? Any plans for what's left of the weekend? Yesterday went with a friend to see "Nights in Rodathne", it was ok. The last 20 minutes of the movie there was dead silence in the theater. When the movie ended and the lights came back on, some young guy, who was probably dragged in there by his wife or girlfriend, got up out of his seat and said loudly to everyone that it was now time for the action/adventure show! LOL! I was surprised to see at least one guy in there by himself. My friend made a comment about how fast he left the theater after the movie ended, though.

Today I have to go out and pick up a few grocery items and medications. Come home and vacuum, do dishes and laundry. Usual boring stuff. What are your plans?

My gals potluck luncheon, is Monday, and I can't decided which to take:

Sweet potato sausage balls
OR
Chicken cheese ball

Today is Thanksgiving, here in Canada. We are going to my sil's house for dinner. I made the stuff we are supposed to bring, and I made a lasagna for the freezer, that I can take out and cook after work some night this week.

I also walked the dogs, and plan to spend some more time outside today, maybe cleaning the yard out.

I finially went and got a few groceries, enough for 3 days at least. My son dropped off beef stew a few days ago which his gf made it left much to be desired but we ate it so I picked up a sirloin roast that I'll cut up for beef stew. Annie over in the cooking forum posted her stew instructions for me. She made it recently and posted a photo which looked so good I had to ask her how to make it. Anyway I'll make it Monday I would make it tomorrow but the kids have been asking for ham BBQ sandwhiches and I promised. Amiee and the boys just put two pumpkin pies in the oven. They recieved no help from me but they did use the premade Pillsbury crust. They said they needed to practice for Thanksgiving LOL I will be a willing taste tester. I have a load of the boys school clothes washing now, actually just their school jeans. 125 deg.F Tide Free and Gentle Pod, and 3 rinses. I still have time for one more load tonight so I'll do school shirts. Tomorrow is another day. Elizabeth if your reading this I don't recall you posting lately of course I may have missed it...are you ok? Have a great Saturday evening everyone.

Good afternoon :-) Great find Nicole. DH brings not very exciting stuff home for me like fence material and things like that. Much appreciated but not very fancy even though it is free :-) he gets it on his job sites. When they are throwing stuff away they ask him if he wants it. I'm here having pizza with my husband. well sort of. he got a business call so I'm talking to you. My view outside the window is one of a traditional Vancouver gray rainy day. You can see me often with whole over layer of wool, hat, gloves, sweater, with a down vest,. Also a thin Merino wool underlayer which you can't see of course, and wool socks. I walk dogs as part of my living so wool keeps me warm even when I'm wet. I have to go and make a call about my accounting software today yuck. Then it's time to make chicken curry dinner. Happy Thursday all :-).

Major heat wave today - it was 96° this afternoon, and despite the hot weather, I am still recuperating from a cold that I've had for about a week now. I am also recuperating from surgery to remove melanoma, and I have to go back to my dermatologist next week and the week after that for yet more surgery, but it will be less invasive than the melanoma removal. I met with business partner this afternoon at my house (I am not supposed to drive while I have stitches), and we worked out a deal for new furniture designs that will be made in Mexico. We had a conference call with the manufacturer in Mexico, and that went well, and so now I have to do some more drawings/designs. Having this new work makes me feel better and lifts my mood, which has been depressed because of the cold and the surgery. I had planned to go to Cathedral City this week-end, but since I cannot drive, that will not be happening. It's hot enough here anyway. It's actually hotter here in Los Angeles than it is in Palm Springs, due to the Santa Ana winds, which unfortunately cause me to feel depressed. Fortunately, I had a visit today, and that helped alleviate the depression, which was not severe anyway. Because of the heat, I had to water some of my chili plants twice today. If I were able, I would repot some of them, but my doctor has told me to wait on this, as I am not supposed to lift anything heavier than a gallon of water for a week. Next week my surgery will be on my left wrist, and that will also make gardening more difficult. However, it appears that I will be getting a good crop of chocolate Habanero chilies, and I did not realize that so many of my plants were this variety, as they are difficult to grow. I am also starting some seeds for winter herbs, including scallions, Indian basil, parsley, cilantro, and dill. I can grow these in the summer, but they seem to do better in the winter.

I've gotten where I hate to open up a Forum Post on Food. I'm so craving Split Pea Soup now. But, I don't have any ham. I usually keep ham scraps in zip lock bags for flavor. I might have to send Main Man to town. LOL!

My house has been opened for most of this week with cooler temps in the morning and evening. Dust is so thick I'm gonna have to "dig" into it. Yuck!

I better change the Air Filter while I'm at it too!

So far all I've accomplished is watching 2 very good Movies. My Bad! I watch "Blue Butterfly" and "Sex in the City".

"Blue Butterfly" was clever. A termanally ill boy goes to the Tropics with his Mother to find the "Blue Butterfly".

Read the papers, worked four crossword puzzles in them and cleaned out the frig. Played on the computer and that's about it.

Happy Thanksgiving to Susan and all our northern friends. Sure wish ours was in October.

I slept in until around 9:30, DH slept in until about 10:00. We got ready to ride to West Virginia to get our cigarette suply for the month,
stopped and ate lunch across the street from Charlestown Races and Slots. Got back to Maryland, stopped at the grocery store to get our
lunch meat for our lunches for the week. Got home, DH paid bills and I took a ride to see my DS where I took him to get some Chinese
food then came home. I am finally settled for the night after cutting DH's hair and packing his lunch for tomorrow; I will make mine in the
morning before I leave for work. I am now going to play on here for a bit and dowload some pics that I took today while we were on our
Sunday drive.

I got most of my stuff from this weekend put away, even filled the dishwasher. There is a little spot left, before I will start it up.

Talked long with my oldest daughter. Looks like my trip to Iowa City next month will fall by the wayside. I will most likely go up there in the next week or so, and help her move back. ARGH! Things are just not working out for her, and her fella. No way of knowing where this will head next, but I will most likely have a house guest for a while again.

I am still pretty weak, but we hadn't been to church in such a long time that we went today. First we went to a local restaurant for breakfast. After church Jammer had a couple of online trainings to take so I sat with him while he did that. Then we messed around with the new 22 rifle that I got him for his birthday, them loaded everything up and went to my son's ranch for some target shooting. We had lots of fun. When we got back to the house my wonderful DIL had supper cooking for us. DS had tivoed the Dallas Cardinal game so we watched it. Now we are home and happy after such a good day. Of course it would have been better if Dallas had won!
