I am so glad I left that far behind 31 years ago when moving to CA. I lived for 25 years with ice and snow in MA and IL. Don't miss it at all. Stay warm. I will think of you when I am working out in my garden today. Really not trying to rub it in. LOL

It seems really early for snow--or is it the norm in ND? Stay warm today. Maybe it will warm up some this week. It was 48 this a.m., and I'm in Florida.

We too had our first snowfall about 2 weeks ago, but it was gone that night--most of it. Am surprised to hear that Carolyn had snow this morning because all we got was wind. We are in north central near the border and it is very cold and windy. Some clouds -- I am sure the white stuff will be gone soon.
BUT, coming home from Botineau yesterday, we saw several big flocks of snow geese and some regular Canadian geese. OK for the snows--but a month early for the regular.
Guess winter may be here early.

I'd like to shoot that pesky rat that lives in our state....We might get a flake or 2 tomorrow or Tuesday, but that's it for the week....Be great if that were it for the year....

We're not supposed to get anything that accumulates tomorrow/Tues here in Ohio, but I did my first of the season "better go get my stuff today in case I can't tomorrow" run to town today. I hate that feeling.

I'm glad I found this thread, because I was going to start one about our first snow.

I thought the first snow of the season was supposed to be fat, fluffy flakes fluddering down and melting shortly after landing!!!

Grrr! this snow is blustery and blowing straight across at about 24 - 33 miles an hour! This is NOT pretty!
I think I'm getting old. (and crabby!)

We have flurries here in SE Minn, also. Along with winds gusting to over 50 mph. Brrrrr.

This morning it felt chilly in here. I had two cats negotiating for lap space. So I bumped the thermostat a couple degrees. Turned on the news and they showed the traffic cams in NW MN with the white stuff on the ground. Looked so comforting! :D Comforting because it isn't here yet! LOL We may get a few flakes and as I speak there's some splashes of wet on the windows but I can't see anything YET. I wanted to go out for breakfast but couldn't get myself moving. But I got caught up on stuff for work so now it's curl up under a blanket and see what trouble I can get into on the internet!

Yep, time to get some gas for the snowblower! Uh, later.

Today at church, during the children's time, they were asked if they had anything they wanted to pray about and one little kid said "For the snow to hurry up". I could hear a groan throughout the adult congregation.

We were lucky. Our last campout bike weekend just ended. Lots of sunshine, highs in the low 70's both days. Good thing we got back to camp today when we did. The wind picked up from the north, and would have been in our face if we had been any later.

Now, home, van empty and plans look like they will change.

More about that later.

I am just glad, we had a last hurrah, before the cold season hits.

Oh Brrrrrrrr. That picture just gave me the chills. I am sooooo glad I left Ohio and moved to Georgia. It's cold enough here, but at least we seldom get that white stuff in our area. Please don't send any of it in my direction. I despise ice and snow.

I know it must not be fun to have snow when you have to live your everyday lives, working and driving in the stuff but one of the biggest dreams of my life is to go to bed one night and wake to a white snowy world. The last time I saw a snowfall was almost 40yrs ago apart from a little flurry when I was in Scotland in April. The other people in the guesthouse restaurant must have thought I had completely lost the plot rushing outside so I could photograph the three or four flakes which landed in the flowerbox on the porch. Hopefully for you the winter does not settle in too early - the same as I am hoping the long, hot summer does not start too soon. Beth

they're saying maybe a few flakes here tomorrow...(detroit) but i'm sure not ready! have to take my van back again to see where a leak is from the repair! thanks be since it's their error, i'll have a loaner...

i'm just glad when the wind blew today we didn't have anything falling but leaves!

We LOVE snow here in Portland Oregon and wait for it every year. If we are lucky, we get one snow day a year. And it's beautiful!

My Mom (near Buffalo) had snow last week, just a little to coat the grass. I haven't seen snow at my house since last February, but I have my trusty snow shovel ready just in case!
