All I can tell you is that right after my Dad passed away I would get glimpses of what looked like a large white dog out of the corner of my eye. It only happened a few times, but I know what I saw!

I don't know but when I lived in the rental house we had before we bought this house, I used to see shadows going down the hall when I was in the livingroom, just like you said, out of the corner of my eye. When I first moved in, I would brush my teeth in the hall bathroom because it had a counter for all our stuff and I kept seeing the same thing, out of the corner of my eye. The kids/and or the ex would either be sound asleep, deep into a movie/tv or out of the house. So, it was never them. I quit brushing my teeth in that bathroom.

I then asked my neighbor who had lived across the street forever and she knew the original owners of the house, if anyone had ever died in the house. She lied and told me no. It wasn't until I moved out that she finally told me that the original owner (the man) had died in the hall bathroom. When they were fixing it up to rerent, the managers (a couple) were in that bathroom after my neighbor had told them about my ghost and the woman was joking with her husband saying she wasn't afraid of any ghost and the lightbulb in that bathroom exploded when she turned it on.

Still not sure I believe in ghosts, though.

Jann...I would be less afraid of a cat tail than what was seen by many in the family where you lived when we were young...Over the John Deere place.

I never saw...but aunt Dorothy tells about that....makes my hair stand on edge...

Jann, I believe you are seeing your cat.

My Dad died in 1982 in the house I live in now. We moved into the house in 1987. Many times I would be standing at the kitchen sink looking out the window and in the corner of my eye I would see someone just for an instant. I knew without a doubt that it was my Dad and it always put a big smile on my face.

I grew up in a haunted house that was, on occasion, pretty active.

My house now is completely devoid of anything like that.

It's kind of lonely.

We had our first Yorkie to pass over the bridge when he was two and a half years old. My DH and I both felt him on the bed..his little foot steps. One night as I was going up the steps there he was standing there as I got to the top of the steps I was going to pet him and poof he was gone. My DD was spending the night with me and went to bed and there was a very clear bark..we have no explanations of these things but accept that this little guy just wants to let us know that he is still around.

I'm not the least afraid of this--whatever it is. If it's our Missy, she's welcome--provided she doesn't throw up in my washing machine!

To Cuz Pattico, yeah, that place really was creepy. Supposedly someone hanged himself in the vault upstairs that was my playroom! Dorothy is a sensative. I'm not surprised she picked up on it. No one would ever tell me exactly what they saw (Granma Rick felt "something". Some time e-mail me what you've been told.

To all others, I'm enjoying your stories/opinions. I think she's visiting, too.

I too have seen something small and gray scoot around the corner or for a second be at my feet. My little Paisley crossed the Rainbow Bridge a year ago September. And I've been thinking about her and trying to decide if I want to get another furry family member since it's been a year now. I have had cats all my life and I've experienced many sightings as well as feeling them on the bed with me. And of course the brushing against the legs when I'm standing by the door or looking out the window.

It doesn't happen all that often but when it does it always makes me feel good. It's like a little visitor just stopping by, checking things out on one of their journeys.

My little 4 legged baby named Smudge left us Jan 1999. She was three months shy of being 20 years old. She used to sit on the stairs and meow sometimes. One night a few months after she died I was in bed and my two german shepherds were there too. I heard a little meow that sounded like her. At the same instant I heard it both dogs suddenly became alert. I knew they heard her too. I wish she would come visit me again and now I would love to have both german shepherds visit too. I miss them all so much.

Oh, I do believe you are seeing your cat. We live in a very "active" house. We have lights, fans, water hoses and the heat (which we NEVER turn on) turn on and off or off and on again. We have doors fly open and close. We see "something" out of the corner of our eye all the time. I am convinced it is the original owner of our house. He is buried at the end of the street in the cemetery. He died about 4 months after we bought our house.

Embrace your little visitor. She isn't going to hurt you.

After my father died he appeared at the foot of my bed twice telling me each time everything was going to be alright. I don't believe in ghost, but I know it was my father in spirit form. I've never seen him again and wish a thousand times I could just once more!!

Yes, I agree. Our first rabbit, Sunflower, loved to race down the hall to DD's room and hide under her bed. She would stop behind DH's chair, then run when she was seen. I've seen her quite frequently in the last several months. She's been gone for about 5-6 years.
