Hello all - first posting for this new registration, old one had apparently expired. Has anyone heard from or knows an update from Maryann Texas? I have been quite concerned because I have not seen her post and knew she was having a tiring time with her chemo. Thanks, for checking if you can. Molly

How timely that you asked about Mary Ann. I was just going to post the same question. I haven't seen her here in a while and am worried about her. Hope someone has heard from her.

Keep pursuing it. It sounds serious. There has to be someone who can check the water quality. Try to find out what chemicals were put on or in the pond. Easy to over dose. You want to get a scientific sample into a pure bottle. Clean pure bottles for such purpose can be obtained from your health department for testing water. Of course the pond should be checked for depth also not just the surface. call up the local universities to come and check the pond. Purdue, Indiana U. etc. They will have the capability but not sure what department. Maybe all the departments. the right professor might pursue the issue. Keep a notebook and mark down times and dates. Careful notes will be necessary if this goes to court. Just because one person says NO, does not mean that a different person will not jump on this and say YES. This is why everyone is dieing of cancer. Because we keep dumping poison into the environment and expect things to live better. what a laugh.

Georgia, If the other SN's don't work out I can give you a small rooted plant in the spring~ so just email me if you need it... I know what it is like to have to start over and to lose your brug collection and all your hard work down the drain, and how devastating it can be. I lost mine in the fall of 2005 due to flooding from H. Rita. We had 6 ft of flood water in our yard and a few into the house (our house was up 4 ft) I was on the LA coast then and had quite a nice brug collection prior. Most slowly rotted away due to humidity and salt water in the weeks after the flood. Even some of the cuttings I brought into the house eventualy succumbed to rot due to humidity/mildew etc. I almost gave up growing brugs for awhile, and wouldn't even accept any more cutting from anyone because I was completely disgusted! Now I am finally pretty much back to where I started with the old varieties (though I don't have all of them- but most) and of course lots of new ones too. ~SJN

Hey Everyone! Wow, I haven't been here in a couple years!! Lots of new names, and some familiar ones too. Tami gave me a heads up to come check in so here i am! I hope everyone is dong well. Lets see, what's new with us? Grant will be 8 next month (July 19) and is going into 3rd grade. He's growing like a weed, has his dads mechanically inclined mind and loves tools and machinery. He's very smart and is a hard worker!! He's independent and sweet!! Camryn was 5 in January and is a spitfire! She's funny and outgoing but she's got a devilish streak in her for sure. She's stubborn and wants nobody to be the boss of her, so she says. She's starting Kindergarten in August and is super excited. She's not a girly girl AT ALL!!! Our dog, Harlow, is 2.5 and is, I swear, Dakota's twin. They act almost identical in every way. It's almost scary because sometimes I feel like they're the same dog. She's super curious and playful, and adorable. As for me, I'm just staying busy with the kids. We just moved out of our house 2 weeks ago into an apartment temporarily while our home undergoes a massive remodel/addition. Well, it's more of a slight rebuild. We are adding on almost 1500 square feet (building a 2nd level) so we are living in an apartment for 6 months. It's interesting but so far so good!! Hope everyone else is doing great!!! I'll try to check back more often!! :-) I'm on Facebook if anyone wants to find me there. Lots of kid pictures. Just give me your KT name or I probably wont know who you are! :-)

Q. Why I revive old threads? A. No other way to contact the original poster. The truth is Houzz really isn't a forum. It doesn't look like, it act like it, and I'm pretty sure that it is designed differently. The search functions are different. The way 260 comments show up on one page is different. To be honest I didn't even know there were admins until I read this. There are no stickys. Random rules that yo aren't aware of until you read a comment 30 threads in 4 comments down. I had found a couple of answers to my questions but the thread was too old and initially I didn't want to revive it. One of them the user is still currently active but I don't want to derail a thread by asking something unrelated to the subject. I tried clicking on their page but there is no way to PM so I just ended up following them. Then I found another thread and said WTH and decided to ask because their answer is a little more relevant than the ones I asked for. Other than reviving an old thread to get an answer what would be the best way to get a response from the original poster?

I've been wondering the same thing. I don't think she lives that far from me. I think she was going for Treatment in San Antonio.

Thanks everyone for the concern. I had a really bad week awhile back. I couldn't walk from my living room to the kitchen without getting so out of breath that I had to sit down and rest. I should have called the doctor right then, but I waited till Friday of that week and was told to go to the emergency room right away. They thought I might have a blood clot in my lung since one of the meds I am taking can cause blood clots. It turned out that I had pneumonia and all my counts were low, such as my white blood cells, red cell, etc. So they put me in the hospital for 6 days. They did get me all straightened out. But I am still very weak. I had my last chemo treatment this past Tuesday. Yea!!!!!! Now I am scheduled for a ct scan and then my surgeon will schedule me for my next surgery. I am ready to get it over with!

I sure hope the CT results are good, MaryAnn. Sorry you had such a rough time and ended up in the hospital.

I'm so happy it's getting closer to being done with it all. I'm so sorry you ended up in the hospital but thrilled that you are back. You will regain your strength soon. Just rest and stay positive. I know that's a bit harder as the days wear on, but it's so important.
