I don't get out much anymore so please enlighten me. Are you saying Butterball has a turkey already stuffed and ready to cook? Or, is it already cooked? In any case, I would be wary of anything that has stuffing in it for any length of time. Has anyone else seen this and tried it?

Was looking for reviews, but didn't find any.

I found this:

Butterball
Frozen Stuffed Turkey
7 to 14 lb. : Servings: Varies

Stuffed with traditional herb bread stuffing, you can purchase this product at the last minute because it goes from freezer to oven with no thawing!

DO NOT THAW. The turkey is prepared to go from freezer to oven without any thawing.
Simply remove giblets, neck, and gravy packets by holding under running water. And, the turkey is ready to be cooked.

Stuffed a turkey in compost pile

I've put turkey remains into a hot pile in the fall. We remove every scrap of meat and then boil everything with celery and onions to make turkey stock, so by the time it's ready to compost it doesn't have much fat and protein left. Anyway I always have a hot pile in fall, leaves and grass. I put it in the center. It's fun to see the steam wafting up on a crisp fall morning. Pile gets turned in early spring, again a couple months later, by late summer it's done. All I ever find is the breast bone and maybe a leg bone. :-] You do need a hot pile and a good varmint environment. The hot pile helps I think, no varmints in their right mind would dig into the steaming stuff.

Turkey Table

Thanks MM, most of my dishes are sets of 4 so I had a hard time deciding what plates to use on this table. Jane, Wanted to use my rust napkins but only bought 4. I think it would add some color to this table, do you? Come on, help me tweak.lol Karen, I think that's part of the reason I didn't get his sign made!!! To take Candy shots at my house, I just step on one of the bar stools and then stand on my bar. Not to bad unless the stool would happen to swivel...haha Magpie, you ladies need to help me learn to spell tureen...you didn't have a problem. Hope you can get your turkey collection built up before next year. Amazing what the enablers on here do. I picked up most of mine this past year after seeing all the neat ones on here. Lynne, what else would one do with a stuffed turkey.lol I think he's cute. I've seen the green footed dishes and they are beautiful. Jeanne, our Candy shots are nice at times, alright. This makes me realize that I missed the picture of my chandie. Nothing fancy but I used beautiful glass balls and leaves on it. Will try to take a picture and get it posted. Thanks gals for all your comments. I talked with DS last night and we will be having a few of his friends down for dinner also. I'm thinking about putting another leaf in the table and washing all these dishes and not using all the layering. I will use these same gold dishes and chargers, since I have enough for everyone. Guess I'll wait till Tues. and redo the table.lol Punk

Butterball Turkey Question

I can't think about Butterball without remembering this Gloria Gaynor singing T-Day greeting card from a few years back... :) It's Turkey Day - live it up! Sing along now to... I WILL SURVIVE At first I was an egg, I was petrified Kept thinking I'd be lost or I'd get cracked or fried But you took me to your nest before it was too late and Kept me warm and you helped me incubate And now you're back Think you're the boss Want to put me on a plate next to your wife's cranberry sauce. I should have known this day would come I should have known not to relax If I thought for just one second you'd come in here with that ax. Go on now go Walk out the door Just turn around now Ain't chopping my head to the floor Aren't you the one who prized this dark meat on my thighs You think I'd gobble? You think I'd lay down and die? Oh no - not I I will survive Oh as long as I can peck I know I'll stay alive Got my wings so I won't fall You ain't selling me to Butterball I will survive I will survive Hey, Hey Have a great Thanksgiving! /tricia

Frozen Stuffed Turkey - Help Needed

I've never heard of one of those. But just to play it safe you can always use a meat thermometer to verify that both the stuffing and the turkey are both done to the proper safe temperatures.

We have used the pre-stuffed, ready to cook turkeys several times and they are good. Didn't have any problems. I too was worried about the stuffing being in there but I would certainly buy/use them again. That being said, I still prefer making my own stuffing but sometimes a gal just doesn't want to get all "gooey".

I'm sure it's perfectly safe if one follows the directions.

That said, I like MY stuffing/dressing. It's one of my favorite holiday tastes. I want it to taste the way I want.

So I would never buy a prestuffed turkey - who knows what they put in that stuffing? I'm not saying it's bad - but if it isn't what I expect, too wet, too much sage, any egg in it, or cornbread, whatever, it will be a disappointment.

Plus another thought is you just never know when something has been fully frozen all the time or not.....partially thawed is not a good thing.........

Although I have to admit to not having cooked a turkey, or made stuffing in quite a while, I would not like that.

That seems kinda like buying those pre-hard boiled, peeled eggs.
