White pages--etc do you have?

Because I have caller ID, there are times I would like to find out at least the name of the caller. White pages, people search all charge something but does anyone have one that they like, without releasing my phone number.I wouldn't mind paying a small monthly charge, but -----

Marie, you can go to www.whitepages.com and do a variety of searches, including a reverse phone look up (by clicking on "Phone") for free. The phone number information in my experience includes only landlines, not mobile numbers.

The information on this website is from a variety of public sources, some accurate, some not,

It's not unusual for the scam or boiler room-type callers to have phony or un-useful caller IDs that display false numbers. Sometimes they change the number shown so that callers see an incoming call that appears to originate from their own home area code. IE, so it appears to be a local call.

I do not think you have much to lose by doing whatever color you desire on the island. In the case that you needed to sell and had to cover up something unique but less marketable it would be a small piece to paint over instead of wall cabinets. For the record, I just painted over bg oak cabs in a half-formula of Martha' Stewart's whetstone grey, it looks awesome with the rest of my finishes! My plan was for a deep, rich grey on the island but when I painted it with my sample colors i decided I did not like it and painted it to match the perimeters. Not exactly the same as your situation, but just putting it out there in case there is something useful to you in there.

Do any of you have experience using WW flour for a white sauce

I use it frequently instead of white flour, but it is difficult to tell when the roux is done because it starts out with the brown color that I normally want when I use white flour. Basically, I just cook the roux for a certain amount of time and then assume it is done - I probably undercook it. It does have more flavor, and it works just as well for thickening for my purposes.

On our phone, in addition to the caller's number showing up in the Caller ID, the name to which the number is billed also shows up. Because the display screen isn't wide enough to display it all at once, we just use the "right arrow" button to scroll over to get the name.

I also Google the phone numbers. We've had quite a few scammers try to call this year.
