I just did that trying to get the gift wrap in the attic! I agree!! YUCK!

It IS Halloween month! :o)

I did that yesterday in a spot I KNEW there was a giant spider. I was in a hurry and just forgot--shouldda seen me dance. Can't figure out why the spider didn't land on me but I guess he was further over toward the bush at that time because I've seen him since. I can't bring myself to kill him because he's a bug-eater!

I know spiders are more afraid of me than I am of them. After all, I'm about 1,000,000 times bigger! And I know how to use a can of Raid. But their webs creep me out. And I do know spiders are good and eat bugs.

Just rub it off of your face, rub your hands together and deposit whatever remains in a spot that seems appropriate.

Just one of the incidentals of life.

When one gets a hundred of 'em ... one begins to get a bit annoyed ... and clothes the corn broom in a large rag, held on by elastic bands (not of the old and tired kind that've stretched beyond good use).

Lots of 'em on many farms/natural areas.

Orb weavers are common in gardens. Their web is facinating in morning when there is dew on the web.

Gary put his cap on the other day and maybe 10 minutes later felt something crawly on his head. He pulled the cap off and was just as totally grossed out to find a big spider in that!! He was driving at the time, so lucky he had me to toss the hat to so I could shake it out the window. Otherwise, other drivers on the road might not have been too safe at that particular moment!

My neighbor's daughter was driving slowly in my neighborhood when a spider dropped down over her steering wheel. The poor girl freaked out and crashed into a parked car. My own daughter was driving on a Long Island Parkway one night when a spider appeared inside her car. She pulled over and tried to shoo it away or kill it. A cop stopped behind and asked what was up. They never found the spider but he had a funny story to tell his wife about his tour that night.

When my dear daughter was about 6 or 8 years old we were out at my parents farm. We were itn the kitchen and she came running in and said there was something crawling on her. We lifted her shirt and could barely see the spider that was one her. We killed it and my DM said "You shouldnt be so scared of a little thing like that. Those boys will be a lot scarier than that someday." We still make jokes about it and my Dm has been gone 3 1/2 years now. Everytime DD tells me about a spider I say what did your grandma tell you. lol

I can understand.

High school, I worked hard for my first car, a cherry '55 Chevy. I was the hottest with the hottest car.

Driving 15 miles to town to use the laundro-mat because my Mom grounded me from the washer because I was a pig. I took my sister and my dog with me for company.

A teeney little spider came down from my sun visor, right in front of my face and I just quit driving. 55 mph....all I cared about was killing the spider.

I rolled that puppy three times, after I left the road. When we finally stopped, there was just underwear and laundry soap flying around and the dog standing on the passengers side window in the back. The car was still running, I was laying on my sister and, after the spider, I was concerned about wasting gas, reached up and turned the ignition off.

Some nice ladies stopped, took us home and Dad went out with the tractor and turned the car over....."Drive 'er home."

What a car! All it did was put a couple of dents in the top and it squeaked a little after that.

I'm here to tell ya.....a spider can try to kill ya.

I think that the drivers in these posts over reacted to a little spider. When they spotted one, it was time to remain calm, keep control if the car, and bring it to a stop, get out and then extract the spider. If the spider was a black widow or brown recluse, it could be time to worry. A bit of panic in that case would be in order.

Now, if you discovered a rattler under the brake pedal, that would be a delima.

When camping in Arizona, if we took our shoes off, we learned to shake them out and inspect before putting those back on. Once during 3 day period, I found a scorpion in my shoe.
