Here Kitty Kitty....(pic heavy)

On October 1st Murraysmom and I arrived at Lynn's house for a get together. Right behind us was Gazania and her husband, Bill. We had a wonderful time visiting and playing with her cats.

You talk about beautiful cats these were just gorgeous. I am a big cat person with three of my own and I just fell in love with all of her kids.

The first one to warm up to us was Bob. He is just so friendly and loving.

Bob has a brother, Moose, who has the most gorgeous coloring I have ever seen. His fir is just so silky and soft.

Lynn said there was another one who was sleeping under the covers on their bed. She went upstairs to get him. I have never seen a cat as big as the Dude. Pictures just don't do him justice.

They also have the cutest little kitten who is about 6 months old and is so petite she looks like she is about 3 months old. She and Bob are buddies and sleep together.

We had so much fun playing with all of them.

They are so beautiful!!! Are the big ones Maine Coons? When you say you are a big cat person, does that mean you like large cats or love all cats in general? I have two Ragdolls, one is on the small side but Cali is the right size as most Ragdoll cats, big and silky!

I petsit as a side job and mostly for cats (I work for a friend and she knows I don't particularly like dogs) and my last job was with the two sweetest Maine Coons I have ever met. So friendly and love to be with people, just like Ragdolls.

Thanks Nita! We all love seeing everyone's fur-kids. I remember seeing pics of yours on the front dash of the RV. Very glamorous life your kids have. :)

Dude IS huge!!! They are all stunning!

One of ours is a Maine Coon. He takes a while to warm up to someone but when he does, he's a friend for life. The other two cats are the official door/people-greeters.

Heh Mora - kitties have a way of doing that to others! One of the friends that drove me up is seriously thinking of adopting a stray she has hanging around her house now - she has some serious kitty longing even though she has three old kitties (one in his last month or two and another in her last year or two), and a kid that has some serious eating problems (kid was very preemie and almost died - is mostly fine now at 4 yrs, but can't eat!). I am so pleased to have her! DH is in love too :-) She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV, so that was a relief - the shelter doesn't test cats unless they are symptomatic, so I didn't know before hand. We do have a poop issue to deal with unfortunately. She has some seriously loose poop and with her clumsiness, it is pretty messy :-(. It's also got the occasional bit of blood, so I am worried about it. I took in a sample today and it came back negative for everything, so hopefully it's just the stress of the new environment - she is incredibly friendly and has totally accepted DH and I, but she is very shy and nervous about roaming the apartment - I have had to confine her in a small bit of it for now. I'm going to put her on a very good quality kitten food and some probiotics and see if that helps any. I'm teaching her how to use the pan in a less messy way though, so for now that will have to do. Laura - I need a charger that will charge NB-2L batteries (for Cannon Powershot S50). If you have an extra one that will charge them, I'd love to buy it off you or trade you something for it. I can order one online for around $40-50, but I keep having things crop up that take up our discretionary cash! Vet bills, replacing worn out bras and out of town friends visiting have to take priority :-) Oh yeah - kitty has a new official name now - Zephyra. Zephyrus is one of the Four Winds in Greek mythology - he is the West Wind, the gentlest of the winds. Zephyra is a feminized form of the name. Kitty is so like a wind blown tumbleweed, wild and crazy, but also so sweet that we thought the name was a good fit. I hope you can pull those little guys through Laura! Are they from a feral mom? What will you do with them if they make it? Will the shelter euthanize them or find homes? I'll send some rooting for kitty vibes your way :-) BP

Thanks Sylvia! If the deer stay away I could still have a few odd blooms here and there up til New Yr's. So hopefully I'll be posting some more throughout the next few weeks. Yeah, I think I caught her true persona in that pic!! "Pistol" is the mildest word I can think of for this little stinker! Thanks Jim, Ingrid and Irisgal!! Thank you Florence. I love Christmas too, but it tends to get to be too much anymore. I used to love to decorate inside, but our house is so small, and with my older son moved back in, everything is so cramped. And little Miss Lola and her two buddies (we have two other cats) just get into everything, so it's just not worth the hassle. That's why I concentrated on the outside. And I know it's a bit early to put up the lights, but I'm glad we did it, because it's going to start raining this weekend and possible snow just a few miles above us. And I'm beginning to see a few houses around town lighting up too. I love it! Connie, TWO new kitties?? We almost adopted another one last week. One of the employees at a shop across from my craft shop came over looking for someone to take this adorable white and grey fluffy kitten. But I was good and resisted! I love those plastic ornaments. I have lots of them, but I just know they'd be all over the house! Our other female cat Ginger has a huge collection of toys all over the place. We're constantly stepping on them or kicking them around. Sometimes she collects them all under the dining room table, or under my computer desk. She cracks me up. I love cats! Oh, and Lola has been smacked a few times by the iguana. She just keeps going up and messing with him anyway tho. And, that ATV.... I could just "kill" my husband. He's a garbageman, and he drives me crazy with all the "good" crap he brings home. The ATV was given to him by one of his customers. It isn't running right now. It'll sit there for the next several yrs til I make him give it away to someone else. Just like the old engine-less Camaro he had sitting in the upper part of the backyard for 4-5yrs. I finally had my son put it on the free list on Craig's list, and some guy came the next day with a lift and took it away! Now that spot is where my main pot ghetto is!!!

Four indoor cats here -- and one litter box! It is kept in the unused master bathroom bathtub! A hard decision -- but that spot has worked out SO well for us. Our litter box must be lidless because our cats literally outgrew the lid itself! LOL! The best thing of all is that the box cannot be seen because of the high walls of the tub AND the fact the tub is located behind the "swing" of the door so I love it! And the tub is easy to clean too! Our policy is scoop out the box several times during the day -- into a grocery bag, tie it shut, and stash in a tall brass garbage bin (which also has a medium sized plastic bag) that JUST fits in a empty slot between the vanity and the shower. The garbage can is emptied once a day out to the main outside garbage can. We were lucky that a litter container JUST fits in behind the brass bin too! So the extra-large main container of litter sits in the garage -- and the DH fills up the one in the bathroom. The scoop is kept in a pretty garbage bin just under-and-behind the toilet -- so it is out-of-sight too. But still handy! Along with a brush-and-pan to sweep up any scattered litter. And a deodorant spray like Febreeze (which works great BTW!) I would dearly love a better spot -- but this house has no basement nor a laundry room so this system has worked for all of us! Jan

Beautiful cats! I thought my cat was big till I saw that picture of Dude! Love that last picture.. Moose sure has an annoyed look on his face lol and the kitten is just precious.

Sorry I didn't mention but yes they are all Maine Coons except for Baby Girl. Lynn is so lucky to have all these beautiful, loving furbabies.

I have always had cats and love them. Dogs are fine too but there is just something about a cat curled up in your lap with its motor going.

I like cats but only in other peoples homes! LOL We have had 5 cats in our lives. One was extremely special. Her name was Pepper and she looked like Baby Girl!

Thanks to you all, our boys do rule the roost! What Nita isn't telling you is that we have a colony on the patio as well. A few years ago a stray showed up, a gray tabby who has had a hard life. Someone was very mean to her, she fears hands, hoses and anything attached to a stick. We've been working on her and can only hope that we can capture her to have her spayed, so far she has avoided the live trap.

She has had 3 litters, 3 of the now adults live on the porch (we had 2 neutered)one of which sometimes comes in, Baby Girl in the photo was born in April, and now 3 that were born in June (yep, she carried two litters). Baby is at the vet, we pick her up this afternoon, she was spayed.

The boys are Maine Coons, Bob and Moose are 5 years old, biological brothers from Maine Coon Cattery outside Cleveland, Dude is 7 and hails from McKittycreek in Erie, PA. He was a great match for us because Sue also has exotic birds, but was an only child so he feels he is above all the other cats. I love Maine Coon cats...or any cat!! LOL!!!

Hey, Lynn, good to hear from you here!!! I loved seeing your babies in person and again here now. They are so special and so are you!! All of your animals are so happy and beautiful. Give the boys and Baby Girl a big pat for me!!!

I love, love, love seeing fur babies...And what a bunch of gorgeous fur babies....We just adopted another baby and she looks like your Moose and we call her Baby, real name is Baylee...So far she terrorizes the older 2 but hopefully, spaying will settle her down....
Look at the last picture, how Moose has his paws, so perfect......

I know what you mean about taking care of outside cats, we have 3 that some times live on our porch...But, we make sure they have 3 meals a day and in the winter, we do have shelter with a snuggle safe.....Love them all!

Bob looks exactly like the Maine Coon I had for several years; he's been gone seven years now. My neice has a Russian Blue that would make Dude look like a baby, even though he is a pretty big guy!

Just absolutely beautiful! We had a big Main Coon cat when we lived in Oklahoma, what a wonderful cat he was. We miss him along with all our other sweet kitties that have crossed the bridge.

In the feral cats that come to eat in my back yard there are 2 that could be twins to that Baby Girl. I wish we could catch some of them they are so beautiful.
