Hello, Celeste, how nice to hear that your power is on, and hope it stays that way. You do need a warm house for all of you and the kitties. So sorry to hear that Lily is under the weather. It's tough losing a treasured pet, so hope she will be with you for much longer. Our first cat was only 3 1/2 years old when he died of feline aids. We still miss him so much.
Your pictures are very pretty, but I don't think I would trade places with you right now. Twenty-two inches of snow is a lot to deal with. However,Connor doesn't look as if he is having too much trouble with the snow. It's us older folks that don't appreciate it so much, I guess. Stay safe and stay warm. Avedon

I am so glad Lily seems better. It is very hard to lose a pet who is a family member.

The pictures are gorgeous! It is hard to believe that that much snow fell in October, isn't it?

I'm so glad your power was quickly restored. Tough to be cold and snowed in, isn't it? Poor hubby. Out in the cold and being teased (hopefully just to his back).

CELESTE; I am so glad your power is back on so all of you can staywarm.I can look at CONNOR and know its really cold there. His little nose is very red from the cold.Hope lIly continues to feel better, She is such a pretty kitty.maybe her joints was hurting with all the cold weather.I do hope she gets alright.I just love thses pictures of the snow on the trees. Its so pretty.back when I was little in ILLINOIS we had to use the shovel to remoove the snow, Didn't have snow blowers back thensnd it was so tireing and hard on the back.I lived with my grandmother,and she neveer shoveled any snow, it was me and my uncle that did that daily.The red leaves shining threough that snow is so pretty, but, I love the looks of the snow in them other pictures, too, They dont seem to have leaves, but they pretty with the snow on them.nemo standing at that door looking at the snow as if to say now who put that here in the door and block it.and looks like ZEUS wants no part of it..Thank you for posting these picture for us to see the beauty without having to gooo out in it.It IS very pretty to look at.Glad you are ok.and have heat in your home now.

I just had to laugh at the cats looking at the pile of snow at the door. Glad to hear all are safe. The garden shots look enchanting with the snow on everything.

I feel the pain of your hubby having to snowblow all that wet stuff. Looks easy but I know the wet stuff makes it harder to get through, even with a snowblower.

Be careful when you are out and about, as those trees are heavy with wet snow.

Ah, snow, & the best kind. Somewhere else-sorry you have it so early, but it is pretty. Your kitties look a bit puzzled by it all, and I don't blame them. Lily looks very pretty napping there. Hope she gets better. I thought I was losing my elderly cat a few weeks ago. She stumbled a lot, would be walking along & just fall over & couldn't jump on anything. I think she had a stroke. I should have taken her to a vet, but I thought they probably couldn't do anything anyway. She is almost 17 now. She is doing well now though, I got some canned food that she loves & she's gained weight & her balance is back. She is even back to her normal grumpy self :) I hope Lily has a similar recovery.

My cats love the outside but they have a similar reaction to snow drifts against the door to the deck. They complain like it is somehow my fault.

Such beautiful pictures but such a pain to deal with all that snow and much too early in the year. I guess that your garden is oficially done for the season now and asleep until the spring. Poor Kitties that have to deal with all that snow pilled up much higher than they are tall. No wonder hubby was a grump haveing to snowblow and shovel. Hope Lily gets better quickly, 13 is not so old for a well cared for cat. And really good that your power came back quickly as you don't need a cold house! Do you have a fireplace or alternative way or heating in case of emergencies?

I've got cabin-fever already so it was great to stop in and hear from you cheery folks!

Some of the snow is melting because the sun is out...YAY!
It gets down in the 20's at night so there is going to be re-freezing of the roads & walkways. I am so glad that we got our power back on because some communities are still without power. One town is postponing trick-or-treating until Thursday because of downed power lines. Rita, NO we don't have a fireplace or woodstove in case the power goes out.
But because we lose power fairly often in the winter, we have a small generator that we can use temporarily to power a small space heater. Thank you all for your concern
for Lily. She is walking fine today but her appetite is down and she mostly sleeps. Normally she is up early & whining to be let out but she's made no attempt to go to the door. She just acts very lethargic. I was worried because the day before the storm she did not come home at night and I had to look all over for her with a flashlight.
I found her laying under a rosebush in my garden and when she tried to get up, she could not stand on her hind legs, almost like they were paralyzed. I don't know if maybe she got tired and laid down to rest, fell asleep and got hypothermia because she was laying on snow from the first snowstorm? Or like Nancy's cat, maybe had a stroke? It was really cold that night and she
is very thin. (She looks bigger than she really is because of the long fur. She's actually always been very boney).
