snow day .. kids home.. bored out of my mind .. they were playing nicely together ... something about webkinz getting married .... so i hit the link to OTHER FORUMS .... and saw FARMING ... what the heck ... apparently there are a lot of chickens with problems .... lol thought i would share it with you ... sooner or later something will motivate this forum ... i see a few names resurfacing ... the snowbirds must be returning to the great white north ... ken

First off, sorry to be so long getting here, our server was down all night and most of the morning. Terryr, Sorry about your situation...people can be pretty cold and heartless and unfortunately family barbs can sometimes hurt the worst, can't they...wish folks would stop and think before they open their mouths. A friend sent me this image. He was out mending fence and saw this and went all the way back to the house after the camera. His impression is that it had a brief navigational hiccup with drastic consequences. I wonder if a shrike didn't have something to do with this. Looks like a scarab beetle (dung beetle maybe) which are pretty heavily armored and I would bet would tend to glance right off and keep on truckin'....but the barb has impaled the beetle right behind the head where there's a chink in its "armor" so I can go either way on this one. Plus if this beetle was in flight when it hit, its coverlets were out and it would have been more vulnerable. An interesting (and slightly macabre) picture just the same.

There is no way on this Earth I would be rooting around behind the walls in the attic with that creature on the loose. Hubby is a wuss. I would be reversing his batteries too. LOLOL I had a creature problem in my attic under the eave over my bedroom last year but we never found out what it was. All I know is that it snarled and hissed and bit my cat on the neck and scared the bejeezes out of me when I heard the noise and saw Lucy's tail puffed out as big as a duster. LOL Whatever it was came in through a loose roof vent and went out the same way. I had it fixed and haven't heard any footsteps or things knocked about since. I blocked off the door to the eave so it couldn't get out into the main attic room where I store all my things. When I first read the ebay thread my first thought was some kind of cat because my old cat Beau used to take the heads off of rabbits and squirrels. He didn't eat them, just caught them and decapitated them. That is the reason I keep the cats I have now inside the house and don't let them out. Trish's tale did make me laugh though. My creature made so much noise, knocking things over, etc it sounded like I had a ghost in my attic but everytime I went upstairs to check out the noise I didn't see anything because it was happening under the eaves.
