Oh my gosh Lindsey, thank you!!! I just started checking Hamilton Ontario today because I knew there were relatives there but I couldn't find anything. You found in minutes what has taken me years to find.

I was just given Eva Parent's bible. She is not a blood relative but it was nice to have the info that was in the bible and I hope I can somehow find an ancestor of hers that might want it.

Is there a way I can copy and save those certificates from here?

Anne, lindsey helped me out once and it was like a miracle. She knows her stuff and I bet it felt like Christmas to you to get that info. Isn't it fun? Lindsey, you ought to go into research for $$$$. I think you could make a fortune!! I still appreciate the research you did for me!! Lucky Anne!!

Vannie, I was so excited to get the marriage info that I could barely wait until it was acceptable for me to call some family members to let them know. It was wonderful of Lindsey to take the time to look for this info. I had to sit on this info for hours and it was just killing me not to call someone. LOL I had no idea the genealogy site had the actual certificates. It was nice to recognize the signature of Raymond on the document.

I know. I have found 2 cousins through the DAR--one in W. Monroe, La. and one in S. Carolina. They have been so good to share w/ me, and had lots of stuff. I've become close to the one in W. Monroe--we were able to meet and e-mail daily. She's just as crazy as I am, so I know we're kin!!

Membership to Ancestry.com is so worthwhile! Last night when I saw your original message I immediately went to Ancestry.com and typed "Raymond Higginbottom" into the search thing and it immediately came up with a bunch of hits. The marriage certificate to Margaret Chase is the first result that I clicked on. I had it posted here in less than 5 minutes from when I first opened your message.

And, Vannie, I was happy to be able to find the proof you needed to join the Daughters of the American Revolution. As for charging for research -- if I were to do this full time, I would consider it. But I earn a very good income from my current full time job, and genealogy research is a spare-time thing. I'd feel awful about charging folks for research time if I couldn't find anything for them... and sometimes I can't. Or I find things, but need more info to confirm if it's the right people, but don't hear back from the person who asked for the help to begin with. So, I'd rather keep it as a gift of my time type of thing. :-)
