Beeohio, Update on Your Friend's Dog?

Hi Bee - sorry for the shout-out. I was touched by the saga of your friend, her lost dog, found and taken to a shelter, then adopted by someone else who would not give the dog back. I can't imagine the emotion of that and I'm wondering if there is an update. I'm hoping so much that the dog is back with its real owner, your friend. If not, I'm so sorry for your friend and for the dog. I hope you've got a better update.

I saw my friend over Labor Day weekend & speak on facebook. Sorry to say, nothing has changed . The other family still has her dog. She knows nothing of where it is. She read the posts here & was buoyed by the support, but she remains saddened over her loss.

I think all that's left is to hope her pup has a good & loving home.

That makes me so sad. As I'm here tonight surrounded by my pets, who mean the world to me, I can't imagine one of them being somewhere else, with someone else, and not able to come home to me. I am happy that the dog is somewhere where it's being loved and cared for; but my heart breaks for your friend and for the dog who probably wonders what happened. I'm so sorry that this story doesn't have a happier ending.

I'm here and running late as usual. Well it's usual for these days. Years ago I was "NEVER" late. LOL Now it seems to tale me longer and longer to do less and less. Mellen, thanks so much for hosting. It was such fun to go through that big fat envelope of seeds. Many goodies in there for both my cottage garden and my herb garden. Extra thanks to Remy and Patty for the special seeds you sent. And, to whoever sent the striped rush. I sure didn't expect to get anything in that category. I'm wishing so much I could start planting but I think it will be easier to get packs of seeds across the border than trays of seedlings. I do have some plants that will be making the trip so I'll keep my fingers crossed. BB

I got the most wonderful surprise today -- a package from skohler (Susie) for my June birthday. Susie, I am so touched that you would think from me. I got a cute garden notebook (always need that!)a BHG 30-minute meals book - I don't have this one and my goodness I need it. My husband and I pull in the driveway at night at the same time and he is hungry hungry hungry RIGHT NOW - LOL! Some great sunflower and pink silene seeds that I didn't have and a bag of goodies - a granola bar (I love to have these at work in the morning!) Orange Creme Savers - shhh I'm hiding them from my DD - her favorite! and some chocolates. You really made my day Susie, thank you so much!

Worst movie experience was just lately. Ed and I got to the movie theater on time (which is a small miracle for us). We buy snacks and then hand the usher our tickets and he directs us to the theater that ours is playing in. We sit there for 20 minutes of commercials and I am getting antsy because the movie should have started by now. Then there is some more trivia junk playing for 10 more minutes, finally I got mad and walked out to the usher. I complained and he just looks at me kind of stupidly and tells me I can get a refund if I like. I tell him that is not the point. Some of us pay babysitters to go out and expect to only be gone so long! I call home, tell the sitter we will be later than I thought and go back in to the movie. After another 15 minutes of trailers the movie started... It turned out that the little doofus directed us to the wrong theater that was playing the same movie at a later time. D'OH! I wanted to bean him with a Goober!

WOW : IF you all think I'm sweet its only because of this sweet box I recieved today :))) jeanette you just put 5 lbs of smiles on my waistline If I could even find a waitline :)) these chocolates are so good :)) but best of all was the rest of the box where I found . scilla camp Hyacinth bulbs , scilla siberica bulbs ,witch I will do a search on so I can find the best place to plant them . then there was narcissus trumpet "KING ALFRED" He sure looks like a king also :)) an Iris to add to my collection "LOW HO SILVER" I Hope you saved a few for yourself :))) very very nice fall gifts that are all so very usefull I love them . kitchen set of Towels/pot holder/ oven mitt photo calendar for 2007 Body Botanical bath fizz a pumpkin with 2 pine scented candles a scented sink strainer I never heard or seen these before sure going to use this one :)) package of 10 note cards I Like these & feel you can never have to many with all that I use . the paper lanter be use as my night light I just got a few of them from a close out summer sale & I like them in the bird room :)) & then its the pumpkin tin filled with the candy kisses & all the white & dark hershey chocolates all through the box . what a very lovely box :) its a rainy day today so the picture is a little dark but you can see the spider that was in my box :)) love him & glad it was no bubba :)) Shirley again very nice fall swap & job well done we can now close this one and start our next swap . thank you jeanette susie

Personally, I'm holding out for some "divine intervention". Say, she's walking/driving down the road, sees the dog & scoops it up & is gone. I can picture it in my minds eye.

I am also sorry for your friend. I just can't imagine keeping someone's pet from them. She has been in my thoughts, too. Hope something good can come from this situation--maybe your friend could find a deserving shelter pet to help overcome the loss.

I am glad you asked about the dog but sorry it still hasn't been returned.
Not long after Bee posted about her friend's dog, the same thing happened to a local dog owner.....by the time the animal shelter notified the owner they had the dog, it had been adopted out. When the man first called the shelter denied they had the dog. And then denied they had notified the owner.
The newspaper and a local radio talk show host got involved and although it took six weeks, Annie, the dog was returned.
Annie went wild when she saw her master.....pic was in the paper.
I hope Bee's friend's dog returned.
I hope this isn't stealing the post.

Carol - not stealing the post at all! It's very pertinent! I sure wish that something like that would happen for Bee's friend. Bee, perhaps you can encourage her again to to to the media.
