I am a coffee drinker. From a mug because it seems to stay hot longer.

Still remember my dad and others who'd "saucer & blow" with the stovetop percolated coffee.

I only drink coffee, but I really dislike drinking from those heavy ceramic mugs. They're too thick. I don't care that it may stay hotter longer - I just don't pour a huge cup.

But I never use a teacup and saucer either. Too fussy.

I have china mugs. They are thin, like a china teacup. They hold a full cup of coffee, and are much more pleasant to drink from than a ceramic mug.

Mush, I've seen some lovely pincushions made with delicate cups and saucers. And bird feeders, too, if you could stand to "trash" them like that.

Mugs, but when I married, I had 3 sets of dinnerware.

Each were 12 place settings, as my MIL insisted I have.

All had cups and saucers.

I sold my Lenox to best friend, sold my everyday locally, still have my royal doulton china. that I rarely use, with cups and saucers.

Guess my son will have to decide what to do with it when I am no longer here :o)

I have a pretty large collection of vintage teacups, but wouldn't use any of them for coffee... unless maybe I had a girl's tea party or something similar.

I have a couple of pretty cups and saucers in my china
cabinet and some everyday cups and saucers in my cupboard
but I usually use coffee mugs for coffee, tea and hot
chocolate.

I like mugs for my coffee but use bone china tea cups for my hot tea. Somehow, it just tastes better when I drink it from a delicate china cup. I collected tea pots and cups and saucers for long time and still have way too many! I used some to make bird feeders, candleholders and pincushions. There's one in my bathroom now with potpourri in it. My advice would be to take them out and enjoy them!

I collect both antique/vintage cups an saucers AND mugs. The cups an saucers are on display and I drink from the mugs. I got into collecting cups and saucers over 30 years ago, when I went to an extension club meeting at a friend's home. She served coffee from a collection of beautiful cups an saucers that she had inherited from her grandmother. I fell in love with them and the romance continues today :-)

I do have some sets of china cups and saucers that I don't use. Mostly I use a mug and do have two china cups I use from time to time, no saucers. I do think hot tea tastes better from a china cup.

I'm another coffee drinker, but if I'm ill, I crave tea. That might be because my Mom always gave me tea and toast when I was sick, as a child. I drink both from a mug, but it has to be glass or ceramic, no plastic or....shudder, Styrofoam. when I was a young married wife we had a neighbor who was from England. She would invite me over for tea, and it was so delightful because she always made a production of the preparations, such as, hot the pot, right temperature of the water and measuring out the loose tea. Then of course there was the tea cozy, sort of a quilt for the teapot to keep it hot. She served small sandwiches or tiny sweets, and of course the tea was served in a beautiful cup and saucer. What a sweet memory that is.

mug, for sure and sometimes this huge supersized plastic cup...that's for the nights it's really cold or i'm drinking mint tea since i can't use tums...(it works pretty well for me)

i have/had the pretty cups, but we took them down to sis' lake house, for dgd's tea party, and left them, sigh...one of these years i hope to get back dow and pick them up...know my neice still has them...

Cups and saucers for me - for both tea and coffee. The coffee cup/saucer is a heavier weight only because I use it so often that there is always the inevitable accident. Usually it's the saucer that gets broken, but since I choose a favorite cup I match it with a saucer from some other coffee cup. Then the cup eventually gets replaced by my next favorite. Currenty, it's a cup and saucer by Lenox called "Butterfly Meadow". The neighbors gave it to me last winter as a gift for checking in on their cats while they were on vacation.

My husband and I both enjoy our coffee/tea in a nice thin tea cup and saucer. I don't think I even own any mugs.

I like both coffee and tea, but I like to use hand crafted ceramic or pottery mugs. The two that I am using right now are very large and each holds about 2 cups worth of what ever I'm drinking. They are by LaWall and I got them at the Amish Acres Arts and Crafts Festival last year. They just have such a good feel to them when you pick them up.
I do like pretty tea cups too! Have a pretty cup and saucer sitting on my dresser. I put little bits and pieces in the cup. I am always looking at Goodwill for cups and saucers....I make those little teacup bird feeders too.
In fact I have about a dozen of them ready to go!
