I didn't turn it on till 8:00 and the first thing that came on was the guy who dropped his pants. Decided to change the channel, but couldn't find anything else I wanted to watch so I gave X-Factor another chance. Some of the singers and groups were really impressive, but I doubt I will watch weekly. I may tune in when it gets down to the finals though.

I hope to watch weekly. They didn't save the dramatic story/great singers until the end like they usually do. They were dispersed throughout, especially during the first hour of the show. The first little girl did a good job, especially since she had to perform first.

(What a shame about the guy who dropped his pants. They showed an audience member walking out with a little girl, sad).

I didn't see this thread when I asked if anyone watched. I see some did I dont think I'll bother with it although I love Simon

No problem Minnie, I'm probably in the minority anyway, lol. Simon was on point last night!

We watched it and I really enjoyed it. I too am a huge Simon fan, tho I don't care much for Paula. I think that the show has promise. I think that the stripper should have been removed immediately, I don't understand why they left him continue as long as he did.

We really enjoyed it (a bit surprised that we did).
We both liked the Scottish judge Carol better than the Pussycat Doll one. She's much too centered on herself and ditzy.

The stripper was so gross. First Kutcher running around naked and now this.

Fantastic singers already!!

Very much like Idol, IMO. The drama with Paula was a bit much...getting sick b/c she saw a penis...PLEASE. I can see leaving her post b/c of it, but saying that she threw up. I doubt it. And, if it bothered her that much, she could have put a stop to it. Drama, drama.

If she brings up at something like that, well, no wonder she's so slim. That was definitely unnecessary drama.

When that older couple asked the judges if they wanted to sing again and they all jumped in yelling no, that was hilarious.

Not as many flakey performers on this show as AI, which is probably what flustered Simon in the past.

I really enjoyed it, there was some really good talent already, it will be fun to watch. I think someone should have immediately run on stage and pulled that guy off as soon as those pants dropped, it is a family show and there were many children in that audience. I can not imagine why the judges let that continue. If that is allowed to happen it will kill the show.
I do not understand how those kinds of people with no real talent can even make it to the stage, you know there has to be some prior screening to determine which of the thousands that show up really get a chance at being seen. I know a few are put through for the comic effect but it sure would be better if they cut all of that out and just put on the real talent, someone with talent could have lost a spot to that idiot.

I liked the other judge Carol too, did they say why she left? I like Nicole too but she has been a judge on other shows.

I loved that first little girl she had the biggest personality and was a very good singer, and was dressed appropriate for her age and not made up to look like a hooker.

I honestly am still baffled by the guy that had the high heels on and was dancing like a mad man all over the stage and rolling across the floor. He did not sing enough to even hear his voice, but he could move LOL Simon seemed to be entranced by him.

I watched it too. I got all choked up with the 40-something mother of two was singing. Before she started I was hoping she was good and not just another flake.

They should have arrested the creep who pulled his pants down. Paula has issues if she got sick to her stomach over that. It was gross but really not enough to make you vomit. She should come to my work, I could show her some nauseating things-lol.

I also liked the first judge more than the replacement, even though I've never heard of either one of them.

I'm on the fence. It is so similiar to Idol, even the vehicles being used to transport the judges and showing their arrivals. The one thing that concerns me though is that a man dropped his drawers in front of a live audience filled with children. If this is the kind of stunt they will use to get ratings, I don't think I want any part of it. Some of the talent was very good. I agree about the first young lady and totally didn't get the prince wanna be. Why they kept him I don't have a clue. I wasn't as impressed with the 20 year male that did Stevie Wonders I wish as the judges were nor was I impressed with Mr. Buff, except that he looked good. Like I said, if they are going to allow a person to strip on the show, I won't be watching. If he'd have done that for a smaller audience, lets say in a park filled with children, he would have been arrested. Why wasn't he?

X Factor is less like American Idol and more like The Voice. Each contestant that makes it through the auditions will go to boot camp where they will hone their skills. If they make it through camp then they will be assigned to one of the judges who will mentor them for their final live performances.
Simon has said that Cheryl Cole did not adjust well to working in the US...whatever that means. Homesick maybe? He also said she turned down his offer to judge on the British version of X...so maybe it's just him?? LOL

Darn it! We are victims of a cable/broadcasting war. It's been about 3 weeks since we've had Fox.

Sorry, Moonie -- you can probably see a lot of the acts on the Fox website. We did, and were able to view singers from the first hour that we had missed.

Don't they have security? The flasher guy was horrible.

In spite of that, we really liked a lot of the singers. The little girl, the guy who sang the Stevie Wonder song, the fellow recently out of rehab who wrote his own hip-hop song and some others.

We plan to keep watching.
