I have only slept in a hotel with the bed over the window and I liked it, I slept under the open part since I like it cooler;) But, that was for only a couple of nights~~

Sometimes it is drafty. There are shutters, and I can aim them up which helps. I don't notice drafty if it's only open a couple of inches which I do in the winter. Summer it's open about 18". I love the fresh air, sound of crickets, little rustles in the bushes (what was that???).

My window is right beside the head end of my bed. If I have the window open I like the little breeze that I can feel. I like to sleep when it is cooler too.

The head of my bed is right under the windows and I love it. In the summer I can open the windows and hear all the wonderful night sounds. I do have inside shutters on those two windows that I can adjust the louvers up and down. We've only had one winter since moving to GA that I had my hubby put plastic outside over the windows as I could feel too much cold air.

I have done it, and loved getting that much air. BUT it's very awkward to open the windows when you have to reach that far, so for convenience sake, I generally don't have my bed in that position.

Personally, I like my bed set diagonally in a corner--anyone else do that? But when I say 'bed'--I just use a matress and box spring on the floor, and then have a little cabinet in the corner instead of a night stand beside the bed

dh would love that, but both rooms we've used as master in this house, have windows on either side...almost as good...

Window is over the the bed, and there is a small, maybe 12 inch, reversable fan in it 365 days a year. Top fan blows out, bottom fan blows in. I sleep hot. And it helps drown the traffic noise (we live about a mile from the Sherrif's Dept and a couple miles from the hospital ~ lots of sirens. We're about half a mile from the highway, but since they cut all the trees down for new housing, you can hear everything now. )

have almost always had the bed under an open window-summer wide open,winter an inch or so-keep covered up and you'll be fine-and I'm north-east of you about 3.5-4 hrs!

In our first house, the daybed in my craft room was under a window. I slept in it sometimes when DH's snoring was too loud. It was drafty, but that probably because it was a very old house with no insulation. It would probably be much better in a more modern house.

Azzalea, I love beds in the corner. Unfortunately, I've never had a bedroom that would accommodate that arrangement.

We're going to be switching bedrooms. Currently the window is beside the bed, and with the new one, the head will be under the window.

Ont-gal, I sleep with the window open year round too.....winter and summer. I love a cool room, and Iove snuggling under the blankets to keep warm.

My concern is having the breeze going over my head and that's where I'm wondering if it might be too cold. Guess we don't know till we try. Keep the comments coming.

I like the cool air, too, but would never feel safe leaving my windows open at night. Plus I would have that problem of not being able to easily raise the windows up and down with the headboard too close.

I need to shop for some window locks to take advantage of this arrangement. I also have had my bed in the corner, too. I'm lucky enough to have the room for this.

I only have one small window in my bedroom and my headboard is too big to be under it. I have an air conditioner in it all summer. So no window open in my bedroom.
