Hello Everyone!

I am finally near a computer for a few minutes so I thought I would take this opportunity and say hello!

My Webtv keyboard is not working so I am unable to type anything right now. I can use my remote control to type with but doing so causes extreme pain in my hand. My brother has been looking for a keyboard for me on Ebay so hopefully I will get one soon.

My SIL Shelley picked up a computer from the school board for me but I am just waiting for my brother Ray to add some programmes onto it. I think my SIL is getting tired of the coputer sitting on her dining room table. LOL I think it has Windows 98 on it. I am still planning on keeping my Webtv though.

I received my flood insurance settlement money Friday so I have been out shopping trying to replace some of the things I lost. You have to be careful with these insurance companies to make sure you get the money you are entitled. I was told my deductible was waived because I did all the cleanup myself and then when I was told the cheque was going to be sent out it was minus the deductible. When I told him my deductible was waived this claim representative told me they don't waive deductibles. I was kind of mad so I hung up with him and made a few more calls. I reached the person who initially told me the deductible was waived and I told him if they didn't give me that money I was going to submit a claim for the cleanup we did which would have been 72 hours x 3 people. LOL He told me it was right in my file that my deductible was waived and he would cut me a $500 cheque right now. Shouldn't these people check the claim file and get their facts right?

Depending on if an Election is called as planned tomorrow I will be working for 9 weeks or so. As soon as the Writ is dropped I will be at the Returning Office in my Riding to help set up. If Harper brings down his own government tomorrow we will be having an Election to elect a Prime Minister on October 14th. I guess I will be spending Thanksgiving and my birthday in the office because it will be our busiest time giving the workers their ballot boxes.

I am the Recruiting Officer for my Riding and will be hiring and setting up training classes for almost 600 Election Day Poll Workers. Some days I will be working over 12 hours and on Election Day probably 18 hours. LOL I love it and the people I work with. 5 of us have been working Elections together for ever. Why fool with a staff that works? LOL We have a new Returning Officer (boss) and this is his first time working an Election. He said he will be relying on us a lot to show him the ropes. Reading about holding an Election is one thing, actually doing it is totally different. LOL I have been working Elections since I was 16 years old. I am hoping I will be able to get some younger people to work the polls this year. Last year I was able to take 6 kids from the area high schools even though they weren't voting age. It was a great experience for them and the ones I did hire did extremely well. I was so proud of them!

LOL If this Election is called tomorrow we will have a full Election and (hopefully) a new Prime Minister before you all elect your new President. I prefer our Electoral Process as I am sure you all prefer yours. Short and sweet. LOL

I guess I should get off this computer now. I am at my friend Donna's house and she is just getting ready to take a homemade pizza out of the oven.
