I bought this jacket for $10 yesterday. It isn't black, it's a nice red, scarlet. It still had the tags on it. It retailed for $130. I go to the gym and walk outside for exercise and I didn't have a 'sporty' winter coat but now I do. It's so lightweight and warm.

I also bought these same boots for $6. Had no idea they were 'vintage' (at least 12 years old since I think Selby ceased as a brand in 1998). I wasn't sure about them but I took them in the dressing room to try on with jeans and I really liked them. I usually only buy black shoes and boots, sometimes dark brown but I bought a purse that color for about 50 cents at a yard sale last week so these caught my eye.

One of my dd's is living in Boston temporarily and has very few winter clothes. She just discovered a Goodwill store nearby and plans to visit very soon!

Oh for Pete's sake, just realized I didn't post the link! Thanks for tracking this album down anyway, Luvs and Yacht. Yacht, I haven't bred a litter in 7 yrs and always hated selling puppies as I get too attached. It was easier to go buy a pup when I wanted another one to show. Since I've had animals all my Life, including 5 horses at once... and everything from them on down to white mice when I was in grade school, I guess I never really considered the 'work' involved. If I had an sense, I wouldn't have so many dogs and cats now. But I love them all so much. And they bring me joy, laughter, and help me deal with each day's pain. They get me up and moving, which is the most difficult part for Fibro sufferers. When my son was burned, they became my 'sanity keepers' in a world turned upside down. The thrift stores here in Pierre SD and Biamarck ND are all to overpriced. They dont have bargain days like yours do except in Pierre they have 25cent clothin on the last Saturday of the month. I dont understand why if everything is donated they think they have to charge the prices they do. Plus almost all of the help is volunteer. In Bismarck I know some of them have warehouses full of stuff that they have to pay rent on. Wouldn't it make more sense to sell it cheaper and get rid of more things then pay for storing it. Who decides what these prices whould be in the first place.

You never know what deals you might find! I haven't been going to Goodwill as much lately and sometimes I wonder what I'm missing but I figure what I don't know won't bother me. I did stop in last week just to check if they had a pair of snowboots in Dan's size, thinking it a longshot at this time of year, but there they were. Only $3. The size was missing but they also had a pair one size smaller and I just compared them sole to sole.

Good deals! Our Goodwill moved and they got rid of their "discount store"- used to get brand new clothes for $1.29 a pound. Will have to get used to paying the higher Goodwill prices again, lol.

I especially like the boots. I've found that boots help me to walk better, now that the old legs (with replaced knees) are getting unstable.

I like to visit the thrift shops looking mostly for button-down-the-front shirts. I hardly ever see them in stores or catalogs any more. Just another one of those "you can't find that any more" things.

I hardly buy anything new anymore. I usually go to our Saver's store, and many times the clothes are new with tags on them. I love thrifting. Great finds for you.

I like both of them, but really like the boots.
I need to start hitting Goodwill for maternity clothes. Last time I was pregnant, my aunt was pregnant just before me, and gave me all her maternity clothes. Not so lucky this time, and I refuse to pay a lot of money for clothes that I'll wear for a few months of so.

I loved my Red Jacket my Mother bought me in 1992. I just now donated it last Spring.

The boots are exactly something I am looking for. I love them.
