Yes but I'll miss Jack Lord!

Probably not.The new revival shows are always disappointing to me.I guess because I still remember the old ones and the new ones are never the same.

I can't wait. But I will also miss Jack Lord!

Only if DH wants to watch it. He's controlling the remote these days because he broke his ankle and has to spend lots of time sitting with his foot up.

I dvr'd it, Chisue. Thanks.

Oh, yeah. I'll give it a shot and hope it's as good as the hype. The one I *won't* watch is the Defenders.

Looking forward to it. However, "new and improved" usually isn't.

I loved the original, but I'll try not to compare. But I do hope to hear "Book 'em, Danno". Man, I had such a crush on Jack Lord. LOL!

I have it set to tape on the DVR - we will see. I was pretty little when the original was out - but I LOVED the theme song :)

Why not on The Defenders, Stoney? I was thinking this one looked pretty good.

I'll record it. It will be interesting to see if Alex O'Loughlin can kill another series.

I'll watch at least the first one and see how it is. They will say "book 'em, Danno". That's what it said in the tv guide and they show it in the previews.

I'll be interested to see if my hunch is right: They've miscast the lead and second lead -- Caan looks like the stronger, more appealing actor and should have the lead. At least the scenery will be interesting!

No, as I never watched the first one.

Sue

I never really watched the original but I'm a bit sentimental and nostalgic in general. I was watching a story on this new version of Hawaii Five-O and one of the new leads said that he has never seen the original version - he didn't want it to taint his performance in any way. I guess he wanted his version to be new and fresh. That just irked me for some reason. I mean, if you want to be totally original, then don't sign on for a remake of an old show. You should at least watch it to know what made the original work. And how will you know if you're being original or not if you haven't seen the old show LOL?

Iowagirl, the commercials for the Defenders don't appeal to me for some reason. For the ones I've seen, Jim Belushi's role is very disrespectful, but I don't think the show is supposed to be an actual comedy. (I'm actually not sure what category it would fit into.) Anyway, it was the belching commercial that really turned me away. LOL I can't explain it, it just came across as a show I wouldn't enjoy.

No, I probably won't watch it.

Absolutely!

Love Hawaii - vacationed on Oahu this May.

Hawaii has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, IMO.

Carol

I'll give it a try, never really watched the original, but did not care for Jack Lord, he was a neighbor of ours in Hawaii, very mean and cranky in his older years. He spent every day on his Lanai yelling at anyone who had the nerve to use the pool! lol My boys still laugh about "that mean old man yelling quiet down!"

I hope the theme show's the same. More than that, I hope I can stay awake until 10 o'clock :-)

Well, DH and I LOVED it! Moved very fast! We'll be watching it regularly, I think.

I thought it was very good! I will continue to watch it.

I really enjoyed it too ... I'll be back

NO! It's on too LATE! darn
!

Kat, that's why they have vcr's, dvr's! :>)

I liked it, lots of action (violence) and good chemistry between the two leads. But nothing at all like seeing Jack Lord. These guys are in their thirties. The Danny Williams character appears to to an equal to Steve McGarrett, rather than an underling who took orders. Come to think of it, the originl show was sorta corny. How many wayward heiresses on drugs did they talk out of suicide?

Rats, I couldn't stay awake and don't have a DVR. Jannie, back in the days of the original, I'm now wondering how old Steve McGarrett was supposed to be? I know Danno was younger. Well--maybe next week!!
