I got a takeout from Golden Corral

As much fried fish as I could put in the tray some sweet potato casserole some cold seafood salad and a few fried shrimp on the top oh yes, a ground sirloon patty w/onions to have for lunch tomorrow

Fish was delish and a lot left over

Potluck, today, fairly good crowd, 14.

My turnip greens and cornbread casserole was a hit.
Gal brought her usual Jiffy corn casserole. Those were the only two hot dishes.
Yummy frozen blueberry salad, plus a pasta salad. Spinach dip with pita chips, different salsa with pine nuts, sausage balls, etc, etc.

Way too much per usual.

FIVE homemade cakes! Unlike last month, no desserts.

Leftover Texas beans, a ham/cheese sandwich, and cantaloupe.

I love egg salad sandwiches, no matter what type of bread you put it on. If there's no bread, I'll make lettuce roll-ups or eat with a spoon.

Well I will try this again. I kept getting an error message that I had to be logged in and I was logged in. I had a busy day with canning pickles, I canned Kosher dill and bread and butter. I ended up with one quart jar and 20 pints of them. For my supper I had homemade chicken noodle soup and canned Grands biscuits. I really like egg salad sandwiches. I like Golden Corral also, none too close to us though.

I cooked one half of an acorn squash, with butter and brown sugar in the center, in the microwave and had the leftover fish, shrimp, and scampi platter from Red Lobster. It's the kind of supper that doesn't really satisfy, so I suppose I'll be hungry later on tonight.

Toss salad with chicken on top. I'm feeling lazy about cooking.

Minnie, I didn't know you could get take-out at Golden Corral. What you got sounds really good and tomorrow you don't have to cook. Yippee for you!!

Glenda, that's the best ever luncheon I've heard you've had. I love the sound of the frozen blueberry salad--and the 5 homemade cakes :-) Bet you're glad you took a hot dish. Have you posted that recipe before? It sure sounds good.

Shirley, I bet your beans are like my veggie soup--better the second day. We used to have egg salad lettuce wraps for lunch often when Harry was on the Atkins diet. Nice!

My gosh, Ont_Gal, that sounds like a dinner for company! You were in the kitchen a while today. I'm such a sweet stuff junkie and that cake sounds to die for. If you have time, I think a lot of us would love the recipe if you have time to post it on the Luckygardnr's "Recipe" post.

In case some haven't read about it, the I'll Share My Recipe" post is now a monthly thing. I think it will work out a lot better this new way.

Schoolhouse, Harry used to make a killer acorn s_uash (my kew doesn't work). It's a lot like yours but he adds some Jack Daniels to the brown sugar and butter. Yahoo! Did RL send you home with some biscuits? That's one reason I like to eat there. I just love those things!

I made a baked pasta e fagioli with garlic bread

I stopped at Wegman's and got a 6.00 dinner-meatloaf, garlic mashed potatoes and roasted cauliflower. I ate half of it and will have the rest tomorrow. Oh, I had delicious bread and butter also. Satine

I have some really thick bone in pork chops I will blacken, and do some baked potatoes to go with.

We had chicken and biscuits. I made baking powder biscuits for the first time and they were great. Hubby had always made bisquick biscuits.

Yummy french dip sandwiches and corn on the cob. Tuxedo mousse cake from the bakery for later...

Salad
Turkey, romaine lettuce, purple onion, tomato, cucumber, steamed asparagus, fat free feta, crumbled saltine crackers, olive oil and fresh lemon juice dressing. Yum!

Mary3444, my sister makes a great pasta e faglioli but I don't remember her baking hers. I've never made it--just wait to have it at her house :-)

Satine, how was the roasted cauliflower? I've never done it that way but people rave about how good it is.

Raven, what kind of "stuff" do you use to blacken your chops? I have tried a few, but they never come out right. Bone-in pork chops rule!!

Pam_25f, I hope you made a lot, 'cause I think a lot of us are on our way to your house!! Someday I'll tell the embarassing story of my first (and second) attempts at making biscuits. It's just sooo pitiful! Glad yours turned out good! ;-)

Jeaninwa, I love French dips, but it isn't one of Harry's favorites. Could you save me some? LOL!

I meant to add this, but so wrapped up in your dinners, it momentarily left my thoughts.

If you have a minute please send a good thought or a prayer that Nita_AZ hears good results from theliver biopsy she had this morning. I've been thinking of her all day.

I don't know what all is involved in the procedure, but I hope she's doing okay tonight.

Yes Take out at GC get a big carton for your main picks I realy loaded mine up you can also get smaller ones for dessert etc. Then take them to the cashier they will weigh and seal and bag for you. Mine was $11 this time (think I got about 8-10 pieces of fish)

Spaghetti and salad at our daughter's. DH is out of town and I was at their house helping take care of their 16 month old daughter and newborn son.

Chocolate cake. 3-2-1 cake with brownie mix.

Thank you for the prayers. I was at the hospital all day. They put you in twilight sleep so you don't really feel anything but pressure. They put a long needle thing down into the liver, then insert another needle into that one to harvest a piece of the liver. They had to do it twice since the first piece wasn't big enough. They don't like to do it more than once because of bleeding.

The worse part of the whole ordeal was having to lay on my side for 4 hour afterwards. Longest 4 hours of my life. LOL Doctor should have results in a couple of days. Hope to hear something good I hope.

Anyway I got out of the hospital at 3 after arriving there before 7 this morning. Was starving since I hadn't eaten since 6 Sunday evening. We headed to Claim Jumpers where I had some fried Calamari, clam chowder and spinach salad. It was all excellent.

We are camped at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson and will head for home in the morning. I am sure glad I thought to do this since we would have had to get up at 3 this morning and wouldn't have gotten home before 7 this evening.
