I love my Swiffer WetJet, tho the pads and bottles of cleaning liquid are expensive. I've learned to open and re-fill the bottles. It's great on linoleum, tile,laminate,even poly finished wood floors.

Do you mean dust-mop, or floor-mop (i.e. wash)?

Jannie, I too have the Swiffer Wet Jet and do refill the bottles, but for as much as I have to mop, it takes too many pads. Oj it is for wet mopping not the dry.

I like the WetJet. I would get the generic pads and refill the bottles. If I didn't have time to refill the bottle I'd just take a spray bottle and spray it then mop.

A lot of people use washcloths, microfiber cloths and such on the WetJet too. I never bothered with it because I don't have a lot of flooring to do. And lately.... well, let's just say the mops are lonely for touch.

I mop every week and I have a lot of tile. I love my Liberman mop. Its the type with the orange mop head. The fabric on the mophead is washable so you can detach it and throw it in the washer. It has a squeezie thing wrings out he mop head but you have to have some strength to do it.

It works great for me and when the mopheads get older, I use them on my porch. I never cared for the Swifter kinds of things - found that it made my floors sticky and it was too expensive to buy the refills.

I have one of those Sweep n mop's that was advertised about a year ago. I found my generic type at the dollar store, but they no longer sell them. It sweeps with those ridges then mops, its just a sponge mop but I like it. Check on ebay (my favorite place to shop)

I don't have a mop, yet alone a favorite one.

I have lots of tile and use a Hoover FloorMate. Keeps even the grout soooo clean!

My favorite mop is one somebody else is using in my kitchen!

I don't know if Jan has a favorite mop but I can testify that judging by the appearance of our kitchen floor the one standing beside the refrigerator is not it....LOL,

I use a 4 inch flat bottom broom with soft bristles and put an old towel over it and wet it. I use maybe 4 cloths. I actually took the time to cutup an old terry cloth robe and sewed around the edges to keep it from fraying.
I paid alot for the robe it owes me.

I like the Swiffer WetJet, but the refills and pads are expensive. I also have a Clorox ReadyMop--the pads are cheaper and the bottle is refillable. Not sure which one I like best. I have one in each kitchen so I don't have to carry it up and down steps.

Cleaning ladies have their preference.

I like my Shark Steam Mop. It does a good job on all my tile and laminate AND hardwood floors. I have no carpet at all Been using it about two years. Have one in both homes.

The one my dear husband uses on the kitchen floor!!

Yes my hand and a rag,you cant get ion corners and all and it looks better when done.

When I was a kid, my mother paid a teenage girl in the neighborhood $1 to hand wash the kitchen floor. I was jealous of the money ($1 was a lot to me) so I begged her to hire me for the job. I got $1 a week allowance for dusting and vacuuming the living room and dining room three times a week. so I could make $2 by also washing the floor.

I've been using my Bee-Mop for years. A replaceable sponge head that locks onto the handle; and a bucket.

I don't buy into the disposable swiffer, disinfecting wipes etc that you use once and toss.

I have a steam mop as well...they are WONDERFUL... does a really good job, the floors are squeeky clean, with no residue,no bending and wringing out a mop, or having to have your hands in dirty mop water..I use mine several times a week, I have alot of tile in my home, and it is nice to know the steam disinfects the floors, especially the bathrooms.And you just toss the pads into the washer..

Redcurls, What shark mop do you use? Is it the Shark� Steam Mop - S3101 for $79.00? I would love to buy one, but I'm not sure which is is best. I have the same kind of flooring you do and it's a pain to clean with a regular mop.

I actually have two...the one in FL has three or four different mop "heads" (mostly just a plastic frame in different sizes/shapes with a terry cloth cover) and was about that price. The one I have in Maryland only has one head and two covers and was only aout $49 at Lowes. I like them both. I especially like that the floor is almost dry when you finish. Make sure to velcro the edges of the cloth covers together before laundering..don't ask me how I know this.

I went to Big Lots today and they had the mop I like, only it was a cheaper price, so I bought one to put back. There is no way I can mop all the floor I have to mop anymore on my hands and knees. There was a time I did, but no more. Once you have knee replacement surgery there is no padding on that knee and you can not put weight on it. There is no finish left on this old tile and the steam mop is too hard to push, the handle bends. I would love to be able to hire it done, but guess that isn't happening.

marilyn, I do not understand how the mop is too hard to push? mine is a bissell, very light weight,just glides on the tile floor, and most definatly the handle does not bend.. You need to take another look, if you get the right mop for you, they do really work great...

I never met a mop that I liked.
They have handles.
Someone once told me that anything that has a handle on it means "work" in some way.
