Genealogy in ND anyone?

I am going thru an old suitcase of pics, ect. of DH's aunt who lived in Park River, ND. There are a ton of clippings for weddings from newspapers from Adams, Grafton, Fargo, and Park River, so far. Most are not related to DH's family, but are of friends of aunt's in the area. If you are looking for someone in that area, let me know ASAP! I have a week to go thru this before we leave for a week, maybe more.

Even thought I am a CA transplant to ND, I do have friends who live in that area. If you could email me some names I can ask around. Also I can check some of the Senior centers or even the phone books

Marie, I will try tomorrow. I have finally finished the suitcase full! One scrapbook was nothing but news paper clippings. There are a couple of clippings of family members who were honorably discharged from the military (WWII). I didn't even try to go thru the whole pages of papers in it.

Thanks for the additional IDs. Did you page through photos to find those others, guys? That's really going the extra mile. Thank you. :-) I went back yesterday only to find someone had scooped up almost the entire collection. Sadly, both Sedums were gone. I really wanted them, especially that little "Jelly Beans" once I knew what it was. I did get the lovely, velvety E. pulvinata though, and another little pinkish-purplish-chalky guy I don't think we've IDed yet - $1.50! It's tiny, but that's good for now. I'll have fun growing them and seeing if I can get succulents to bloom in western Oregon! When you say xGrapto, you mean an unknown Grapto hybrid, right? And genus + cultivar name without the species name included probably means a hybrid rather than a mutation, correct?

Several years ago we looked at exactly that hood when we were trying to find a hood that went with our Chambers B range. The Vent-a-Hood Excalibur is the same or similar to your photo. Anyone has 2nd oven in the island?

groschuni has an oven in his island. It is a Gaggenau 27" so has the smaller size that you're thinking about too - both in width and in height. He has reported that he really likes it and hopefully he'll chime in with more detail. I don't have an island but I do have a galley kitchen and have an undercounter oven in my galley straight across from the cooktop (I do have pretty wide aisles though so no chance of the cooktop cook upturning the apple cart for the oven cook or VV. Like it a lot and I too deliberated over raising this last cabinet in the run about 6 inches but decided not to do it. I do have a Bosch oven which is like the Gagg and smaller Miele about 23.5" tall so that I don't have to be sitting at the floor to operate the oven.

Moonshadow, I'm sorry my email is unlisted; it was that way before the change-over from Spike when all the data went loopy and now I can't change it back, although I've tried several times. (Full disclosure, years ago I was once "Sent to Disney" for, um, criticizing the management on a thread. Then I sneaked back on with a different user name and addy once I got over my sulks and found I couldn't do without THS. During the big change over my two accounts got confabulated and the result is I can't change anything on my profile.) On the happy side however, I do have a fresh copy of Califirnia Paints historical colors brochure along with the formula for Jackson Antique and its nearby colors. Perhaps we can think of some way to get a relay so you can send your snail addy to me somehow. Does anyone have a working THS email account? Perhaps both Moonshadow and I could each use you as a contact if you'd be willing to pass along our mutual email addys so we can get squared away. Thanks! Molly~

you may want to contact your local Mormon Church (Church of the Latter Day Saints)

They maintain the largest geneology data base in the USA.

They might be interested in copying some of your information. I have dealt with them in the past and I can assure you they will treat your materials with the greatest care and you will get back everything the borrow to copy.

Also, if anyone is trying to trace their ancestry the Mormon Church data base is one of the best places to begin your search.

They won't give you a bunch of religious conversion nonesense either,they will just assist you in your search.

btw, if you know who perfomed funeral services for your family...they keep remarkable records..the director for mother's cremation asked all sorts of family questions...

Susan, thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it in mind for future reference. I am mostly posting this for anyone looking for someone in that area, as I have a lot of clippings and pictures from DH's aunt who lived there.

Tami - My mother was from Park River, ND. Her family name was Kelner. She had 8 siblings, only 2 still living. My 86-year-old aunt would be very interested! She still has friends there.

DH's aunt was Frances Geary, Mrs. John Richard Geary. She was very close freinds with Adele Hankey. We still keep in contact with Adele once in a while. Frances was born Frances Gertrude C. 21 Aug. 1916. Married John Richard Geary 22 Sept. 1945. Died 29 November 2001. There are many pictures we assume were of friends and their families and LOTS of newspaper clippings, some whole pages, maybe whole papers. Frances was probably born in either Walnut, KS or St. Paul, MN. I don't currently have that info. Some of the names I listed above are in the pictures I have, but to our knowlege. per her sister, they are not related to us.
