Whatchya having?

I have a full freezer and pantry, but nothing sounds good.

I know it's going to involve some brocolli/cauliflower with cheese sauce, cos I've been thinking about it all day.

As of earlier it will be homemade crab soup (by me) and I have bread rising.

I've been hungry for Broccoli Cheese Soup lately, Ang.

But, someone mention Sausage/Cabbage the other day. I think it was Nita. Sausage/Kraut on a Bun sounds good.

Otherwise I still have that "anorexic skinny legged Chicken" in the Fridge. I might be able to chew on a bone.

Last night on the coast. We're going to a little hole in the wall bar we found in the middle of some seafood processing plants. They make everything from scratch and everything is so good. We decided to have our last meal here there. We will split an order of handmade jalepeno poppers and I am going to have handmade onion rings and grilled halibut. I think hubby is planning on fish and chips. One good thing about going home is that we'll be back to consuming fewer calories, more veggies and no deep fried foods. I love anything deep fried, but I know it's not good for me or my figure. :-)

Last night was more interesting - chickpea ravioli filled with smoked gouda and poblano pepper, tossed with a little butter/olive oil mix and some parmesan. Pretty tasty! Plus an apple and some grapes. Got the ravioli at Aldi. Today is leftover homemade multi- bean & vegetable soup, stock made from beef bone. I may make some cornbread to go with - haven't had any in ages.

I'm still getting an occational asperagus spear from the garden, but I haven't cooked any of them yet. I eat them raw, standing up in the kitchen after I bring in whatever I've picked. Leftover enchiladas for me tonight. Last night for them. Have no idea what I'll make tomorrow but all the bbq talk on recent threads made me, I'm sure, buy a pack of pork ribs the other day. Maybe I should thaw them out tonight.

Green beans cooked with potatoes and ham, roasted cauliflower with garlic plus sliced tomatoes and cucumbers will be on the table. Will have crusty italian bread too for dipping in the juices of the beans and ham.

Its going to left-over Swiss Steak from last night. When I make it I make enough for two meals. DH & I really like it, but at the price of beef, we don't have it often. This time our store had beef roasts on sale so I bought a good sized one, cut off steak-like pieces and froze them in packages to use for Swiss steak and one smaller beef roast. Dottie

I'm going to gazania's house. :-)

Seriously, though, my dad turns 76 today. We are having a few family members down for fried chicken and fixings. I'm going to leave in about half an hour and go fetch it...coz I don't feel like cooking!

Bigbaby is all gimped up because of her foot surgery; therefore I'm chief cook and bottle washer.
I have a pork roast in the crockpot with some carrots and potatoes. Fresh tomatoes from the garden and some cauliflower to go with it.

Last night we had linguine with Alfredo sauce with Asparagus and tomatoes and a browned chicken breast.

I served garlic bread with it.

Yummy...

Tonight I don't know...we just got home from a day at the lake...pretending we were fishing...I think we were just feeding minows to the fish...LOL

I'm hoping to find an idea here....

We had Maple Chicken and Ribs Nigella's Recipe
Reheated garlic parm mashed potatoes from last night in the oven with some more parm on top..oh and reheated some baked beans from the night before that...Oh and New Orleans Coleslaw, another Nigella recipe..Slaw

DS's birthday, we went out to his choice of restaurant, Chili's. The food was good, but we were seated next to a table of 7 LOUD women- hooting and cackling and ordering lots of margharitas- who made a table with 4 kids look quiet. And service was slow. I used to love to go out to dinner. But I'm starting to be so annoyed by rude fellow diners and bad service, I actually rather just cook at home. My kids are usually well behaved. But when people around them are rude and loud, and they wait 20 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich, and the server forgets to bring their drink--- they get a bit grouchy and not as well mannered anymore, and it's hard to be upset with the kids for that when adults aren't behaving with respect.
