The product (in the Swiffer thread) I couldn't recall the name of

I mentioned that I'd seen an ad for a product that hopes to compete with the Swiffer WetJet but it has a washable microfiber pad and a refillable "tank" you can use with your own floor cleaner or just hot water.

It's Rubbermaid's Reveal product; it's on their website.

I'm interested to see whether it'd be a bit sturdier than at least Swiffer's wet pads that work with the basic Swiffer floor duster thing. I've not used a WetJet. Have tried different mop types--changing out the sponge heads have always frustrated me!

In my Sunday newspaper coupon section there was an ad for the Rubbermaid Reveal mop along with a $5.00 off coupon.

I clipped that coupon and will take a look at the Rubbermaid reveal, tomorrow when I go to Walmart.

It is GORGEOUS!! It is about 5 1/2 to 6 feet tall, larger and bushier on top than the one in the photo. It is technically a shrub trained as a tree, so when I confirmed that they were giving the 40% off on it as well, I am not ashamed to say I did a little dance in their office area. They are even holding onto it for me for a couple of weeks during this awful heat so that it gets lots of tlc.

I couldn't live without my dry swiffer sheets for quick cleaning. They slide under my sleigh bed and all my furniture that is low to the floor. I slant it on my baseboards and it removes a lot of dust and lint. If the floor seems extra gritty (dry mud carried in DH's boots) I will sweep with a soft bristled Old Cedar broom before swiffering. That is usually just in the mud-room and kitchen. Who am I kidding?? He can manage to make his way half-way through the house before he takes his boots off :). When I am deep/thorough cleaning (two or three times a year) I use the hard floor attachment on my Rainbow. It can be a PITA, but I know all the dust and grit get pulled out of the crevices. Refuse to use the wet swiffer systems on my wood floors. Only use microfleece pads and vinegar water. Plan on getting the Bona in the future after hearing such good things about it I do keep a box of wet swiffer sheets for when I am in a hurry and need to mop linoleum in laundry room and one bath. I am not overly concerned about any damage here as these floors will be replaced this year.

Bee: That was me who had the screaming fight with the GC. I can't locate the thread and can't recall who we wound up casting as him...someone sufficiently appealing to reel me in as a customer, but ultimately smarmy. Harvey Keitel? I do recall that I wanted someone like Julia Roberts or Scarlett Johannsen to play me, but sadly had to realize Kathy Bates was more realistic. Even more sadly, the saga isn't over yet.

I saw a commercial for it last night and thought it was a great idea. I like the concept of the swiffer wet jet, but I don't like using chemicals because I have alot of sensitivities. It will be nice to have a new option.

Libman also sells some kind of Wet Mop. Not too sure about the details, whether it has a tank. The head looked removeable. I saw it briefly in a commercial.

The WetJet is refillable (I refill mine all the time) and you can buy microfiber heads for them. ebay sells cotton reusable heads for the WetJet too. There's sites with instructions on how to make them too. Some just take a towel and use clothespins to hold it on. I like the throwaway pads. I buy generic ones and they last for a lot of moppings. I have a small bathroom and small kitchen so I don't use a lot of them.

My cousin has the Clorox mop that I've used and don't like it nearly as well as the WetJet. I'd like to get one of the vacuum ones.
