Yes it is out in many stores including Hobby lobby, big Lots, garden ridge.

In my area, Walmart has Christmas stuff out, too.

Already saw some and I forget where. The $store has Halloween out on July 5th.

I saw x mas stuff in a few of the hardware stores around here last weekend. I remember, as a child, waiting anxiously to see x mas stuff pop up in the stores because it meant that the actual holiday was right around the corner - no more than a month away. Now we see so much stuff popping up earlier and earlier that when December comes around, I'm already counting the days until I can box up the decorations again. It's too bad... It just ruins the season for me to shop for ornaments and snowflake wrapping paper when it's 95 degrees outside.

Costco has had Christmas stuff out for a couple of weeks. Seems all stores put it out earlier and earlier each year.

I just put the blinders on. I won't touch, look at, or listen to anything Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Even though I am dying to see Elf and Polar Express. If I watch them now, they'll lose their specialness. I'm having a hard time containing myself right now, listening to polka songs. It's not October yet! What I wouldn't give for a plate of Jägerschnitzel and some sort of potato side dish. Mmm. Oktoberfest won't happen until October 13th. But I sure as heck aint skippin' over it, Halloween, or Thanksgiving just to get to Christmas!

If I still put up a tree I would look for ornaments before they were picked over.

I've seen Christmas out already too.

Before long, they will have it out before school is out for the summer.

Like others, I put blinders on. I refuse to see or hear it till it is time.

Time for me isn't till after the 16th of December, which is my daughters birthday. First thing first.

Spring, with Easter, Summer with the 4th of July, Fall with October Fest and Halloween, and finally Thanksgiving, and then Winter with Christmas, and New Years. I don't do Valentines either. Just another card store holiday.

I liked it when 2 of my sons were stationed overseas and we were told to get their Christmas boxes mailed by 10-31

Our Kohl's store will have it out Tuesday.

I can understand the hobby/craft stores having it out long before now. It only makes sense. Craft stuff takes time so you have to plan ahead. But Labor Day is a bit early AFAIC for the other stores to be getting into it. As I recall, last year Target was putting stuff out after Labor Day. Time to stay away from stores I guess.

I remember when I was a kid and was so excited for the day after Thanksgiving for the Christmas decorations to be out and the stores all lit up.
I also remember that NOTHING was on sale before Christmas and the day after Christmas was the big sale day!

Rob, we have an annual Oktoberfest celebration every year too!! It lasts 9 days which is too long....the celebrations are only on the weekends, but whatever.

It's over our Thanksgiving, from Oct. 5-13. Parades, pancake breakfasts, entertainment, the German club fest-halls.

Tons of schnitzel, spaetzle, red cabbage, sauerkraut, bratwurst, etc etc. I like roesti, don't care for spaetzle.

Macy's was being decorated yesterday.

Oh, heck, let's just leave it **all 'up' year round -- or, how about, NONE of it? (The Jehovah's Witnesses have a good point here.)

I have to be in the holiday spirit to even WANT to look at Christmas stuff, no matter how cute or pretty it might be. And that never happens for me until well after Thanksgiving. And just because the stores put it out this early, it still doesn't make me get into the holiday spirit any sooner. I'm sure that's what they're hoping for, though.

And Joyful, I"m often bringing up the rear on greetings & such so being behind the times is no surprise!
