I have the Acer Extensa 4620Z. It's almost 3 years old, used heavily and have had no problems with it.

Last month I replaced the battery because the old one wasn't holding a charge.

I have the little 10 inch Acer netbook which was fine for surfing and email. And then, I discovered games. Not big enough to download most games. So I got a Toshiba laptop.

The Acer was fine though, no problems.

It seems that Acer has changed a lot!
My very first computer was an Acer laptop. Mind you this was years ago.

I live in Ontario, and it spent more time in Texas at the repair shop than with me!
My next few have been a Dell. Hopefully Acer has its act together now.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a new laptop, and I've been looking at Lenovo, which is IBM.

The thing that I don't like about it is the integrated numberpad! lol

Had an Acer at my last job and used it hard. Also traveled with me. It was fine. My son, the computer geek, was impressed with the brand. I would have like the integrated number pad.

I have an HP laptop with the number pad, and I love it...but it's a 17+" screen size. With the Acer laptop being only 15+", I wonder if the letter keys are small (which I wouldn't like).

That said, I've never had an Acer computer, but I have an Acer 24" monitor that I absolutely love!

My DD has had a Acer laptop for about 4 years now. She does no maintenance on it, treats it roughly and yet it still works great.

The computer guru here bought me an Acer Aspire One for Christmas last year and I really like it. I travel to Vegas every few weeks, for the past two years to see my parents (well Dad now...lost Mom last month) that are in Assisted Living/Memory care. I use mine while I'm in the hotel and it has been great! I have all of the attachments for mine too: external speakers, CD/DVD drive? (so I can play or record them), lap cooling table fan thingy and I prefert my optical mouse so I take that too. It's lighter than my Dell laptop and I can do what I need to do or just cyber surf while I am away. I do find the screen kind of small but I've been having trouble with my eyes lately....old age...yanno lol The numbers on this one are at the top and that works ok for me.

I also have a Acer Aspire Notebook for about 3 years. I've had no problems with it. Also use an Acer Laptop at work with no problems.

I've had one for 3 years and 2 of my friends have them. I think you can beat that price at Wal-Mart.

Vannie- great minds think alike, Walmart was the first website I went to when I got home with the computer name! LOL

Walmart has the same on for $700.

A larger screen would always be nice but I am not sure I want to pay the extra $150 for the laptop with the wider screen. My current HP laptop has a 15" screen and it does pretty well.

I have had Acers for the last two laptops and I *love* them. Then - foolishly - I bought a Toshiba most recently and it's a piece of junk. An $800 piece of junk. I'm now communicating with Office Depot and Toshiba and trying to get my money back.

I had my most recent Acer (aspire) repaired and that's what I'm now using.

I highly recommend Acer, because I am hard on laptops but they're WONDERFUL.

Our laptop is an acer, had it about 5 years now. We love it. Been a great little computer for traveling and an extra at home. We do not play games or download lots on it just mainly email and browsing. We only paid $350.00 for it.

My first laptop was an Acer and it lasted less than a year. DD had the same issue. On the recommendation of our computer guy, my DS and I both recently got an MSI. DS has a netbook for school and I have a regular laptop. I love it! We bought it offline it and it was around $475.

It does have an integrated number pad on the right side and the touch pad is slightly off center to the left. It takes some getting used to but I really use the keypad a lot and like having it. Once you get used to it, you will love it.

my DH has had one for the last 3 yrs for school. the poor thing has been dropped countless times on the tile at home, gawd only knows what happens outside the house lol. he has had very few problems, all he's been able to fix. it looks like he's a techie because he has sawed off the corner fixing the power supply, has steel screws holding in the hinges for the display etc...we never travel w/ his LOL ;-))) it was only $300 and we are sooo happy it has lasted this long, i have only had tough HP's (for 4x the price) and am shocked it's held up so well! ~ liz

I have an Acer aspire, and really like it. Love the fact it is small.Not had any trouble with it.

I just bought an Acer 17" and although I've only had it a month, so far I'm satisfied. I've had two Toshibas before and they've been great and would have bought another but got a pretty good deal on the Acer.

One of the selling points for me of the 17" notebooks is the number pad. I too am used to a lot of data entry and had an external on my first notebook and wanted it from then on.
