I'm telling you, if it's not all about her..she'll make it all about her! lol My neighbors bought Jasper,Abby AND Gracie EACH one of the little critters at Petco that has NO stuffing! (They EACH already have one of the bigger versions of these). Anyway..I carefully take each little critter off the card (with 6 eyes staring at me) and give each FurBaby a critter! That didn't last long..Jasper wanted Abby's, Abby wanted Jasper...and Gracie wanted ALL of them. lol Jasper finally grabbed one and hopped up on the daybed (Gracie can't get up there yet). I don't think at that point Jasper cared which critter he got..long as he had one and was out of reach of Gracie. So..then Gracie and Abby started grabbing from each other! These pictures look like they were out for blood..but they're really playing.

How'd Jasper get up there with a toy??

Forget Jasper...I want yours!!

No...No...No..it's MINE!!!!

Stop yelling at me!!

OMG Country Bumpkin!!!! That's just too darned funny....AND true to life living with fur kids.

I love your story to go with the pics. That last one makes me laugh right out loud.

I just say goodnight to tender plants. Gardening never really stops here -- it is easier to garden in cold than in summer's heat and humidity. Light frost expected this week. I'll still be planting spring bulbs in December after weeks of chill in the fridge, the ground doesn't freeze. We'll have some real cold nights before winter is done, but the days are generally well above freezing and sunny after a cold night. The upper lawn beds need lots of attention. Not seen from the road like the island beds are, I haven't tried before to make them as visually interesting, just attractive to butterflies. Edges everywhere need attention; centipede grass crawled into every bed. Cameron, I have to 'speriment with V. bonariensis, perennial here. Insects took out some in the very dry summer. Some has persisted. What seems to work well for me is V. bonariensis in spring and summer and Salvia leucantha for fall, cutting the verbena back late summer. I hope everybody will find a system to use pics to their best advantage in planning. Now that I have them in folders by months, I'm going back and moving some into folders by location. I have to get out and take last-minute cuttings of tender plants. There's no guarantee that stachytarpheta and pentas will return if the winter is colder than usual. I kind of promised the butterflies there will be more fav nectar plants next year. I dug my one pineapple sage plant, which could be kind of iffy, too and took additional cuttings. Hi Everyone! Rose, my guess is 13 for the planter contest. My box arrived from Vina today, and it was very, very nice! Loved the butterfly stickers on the box! Vina sent me: Blue Mouse Ears, a mini hosta, YEA!, which is already planted in between the tiarellas; A Columbine William Guiness, very pretty, and already planted; A pink Obedient plant, an Agastache Honeybee Blue and a Rudbeckia Herbstonne, all of which have been potted up awaiting decisions on where to put them! Also received a beautiful, orange daylily called Kwanza! Vina, thank you so much for sharing these plants with me, I am very pleased! Well, I have to have Willie, the cat, at the Vet's at 7:30 tomorrow morning, so I'd better start doing bedtime stuff! Talk to ya all later! Shirley!

Hi all, Yeah, I know I don't come by often, but I read more than I post. Apparently BJ has been away for awhile? I saw the post by Susan asking if anyone was food combining, and it looks like no one replied. What is everyone here doing now? I think I eat closer to level 2, staying away from sugar and white flour, etc, and most carbs, even whole grain. I actually do better when I stay away from even the healthy carbs. I try to do lots of veggies, and still do my chocolate low-carb protein shakes. I haven't lost any more, though. It's frustrating, for as faithful as I am to eating "right". I remember how excited and happy I was when I lost 34 lbs. after only 3 months of following SS. My body adjusted, though, unfortunately. I've been watching Americon Idol, too. They are all so good now, it's hard to see any of them leave. I've been watching Heroes, too, and Office Space, and renting DVD's from Netflix. Just finished watching Pursuit Of Happiness, and currently on The Secret. I'm totally into computer virtual worlds now, and playing Myst Online, Morrowind, and Return To Mysterious Island. I've finished 10 oil paintings since I got here to Hawaii. I know some of you still remember when I moved. I'm not at all sorry I moved here, as it's a good place, but I get lonely, too. Not lonely enough to go through the winters anymore though. I think they will come and visit me again either this summer or next. My granddaughters are awesome girls, and I couldn't be happier with them or prouder of them. I'll keep checking in with you. You are all important to me though I haven't been much involved lately. I thought I'd write an update since a lot has happened since I posted just the other day. Studying Ellie's test results and everything online about it, the finger pointed directly at FIP. I'm guessing the "dry" variety since the doctor didn't see any fluid accumulation in Ellie. About the time I came to this sad conclusion, Anne-Marie read this post and emailed me directly, reminding me of the helpful Yahoo communities, of which they had an FIP group. Once there, I read an update by a woman named Karin whose kitty, Gracie, was diagnosed with dry FIP 26 months ago. She was enrolled in a Univ. of Tenn. study for a new drug, and today the kitty is free of FIP! Anyway, from her I got the contact information for the study director and the drug mfg. Finally, I called my vet who admitted he thought it was FIP. Since he knows it to be a death sentence, he hadn't wanted to leave me with no hope, so he just said FIP could be one of the reasons for her test results. I was initially upset that he could've told me this a month ago, but if he had, I'd have probably accepted his prognosis (since I've read enough about FIP in the past on this board) and not gone searching on my own, which led me to the drug, a polyprenyl immunostimulant (PI). Anyway, I've contacted the study leader and am trying to obtain the drug for my kitty. This evening, my vet contacted him also to see what was needed (by the way of further testing) to get her considered. It's a long-shot, I know--but it's the only one we have. My vet hadn't even heard of the study, much less the drug's potential. Heck, he obviously didn't even know much about FIP (which I guess is good--not many kitties around here having it hopefully). Here's something about it: "Recently, a new drug tested in three cats with the dry form of FIP demonstrated efficacy in prolonging life and alleviating signs.38 The drug, a polyprenyl immunostimulant, is an investigatory veterinary biologic that upregulates mRNA expression of T helper lymphocytes responsible for effective cell-mediated immunity. In this study, two cats with FIP were still alive two years after diagnosis, while one cat survived 14 months. Further studies are under way to assess this drug's potential for FIP treatment.38" So, there IS hope for some kitties.....and my prayers are that there is hope for Ellie, too. Tracey

Gracie is soooo precious! Rambo (our Yorkie puppy) just loves those no-stuffing animals--he even sleeps with them.

Adorable pictures. Dogs are just fun to watch. When I won my doggie basket, I'd pull out a toy and give it to Ziggy and then give one to Wally. Ziggy would race over and take Wally's and then have two toys in his mouth. He's not into sharing being an only child for two years..lol

danihoney, the Skinneeez no-stuffing toys are fantastic. Rambo has at least 20 of them. The best place I've found to get them is Pet Mountain--great prices.

That is hilarious!! What a fun bunch!! Fred and Carmelita have three of those and they make great tug-of-war toys. Keeps 'em busy for hours!! Your dogs are precious!!

OMG...I knew she was gonna be the boss eventually...I just didn't think it would be this fast...although I should have known better...Abby was the boss the day she came in to our house!

Tooooo funny. Loved all the pictures. Those no stuffing toys are the greatest. Our Kaicee has several of them and I no longer have to clean up mounds of stuffing all over the place. We ordered the first ones, then found more at Petsmart.
