Good! I never think of writing to the company and I think it is very worthwhile if a valid issue (which your's definitely is, in my opinion). I think it's a great company that responds positively to a person's complaint. I also believe in complaining nicely, which, knowing a little bit about you from your posts, I am sure you did.

Just last night I was thinking of you and your post!

(While I was trying to pull the icky stuff out of my fabric sweeper. I've got a combination pet hair/sofa lint issue, but the fabric sweeper helps a bit; running one of the sticky lint brushes over the sofa helps more, tho.)

I think Pledge HAS to know that most thinking people are not going to use it a few times, see it is full of gunk and then toss it out and buy a new one. The company's response was surprisingly nice, tho!

I write the companies if I think there is a need. I bought a box of the Cinnamon Crunch Toast or whatever and it was so sweet I called. When asked what was wrong with it, I told them to sweet, I wouldn't buy that for a child of mine. They sent me a couple of coupons for large boxes of cereal. I notice later that they lower the sugar content, so I wasn't the only one complaining. I also wrote Tide because of the Tide with Downy. I couldn't even sleep on my sheets. More coupons. This reminds me of my nephew, he wrote a cereal company and asked them why they had changed his favorite cereal. LOL They answered.

Don't recall the company just now but I wrote them to tell them how much I liked their product. They obviously didn't read it since I received a form letter telling me they were sorry I didn't like their product. So much for that!!!

don't bother to read the directions.

Well, maybe this will get Pledge to fess up and say that it doesn't need to be discarded after just a few uses. I'm sure its research and development division has gotten a few laughs over that, and certainly Pledge has gotten a few more bucks from some folks' "trust in advertising."

The issue at hand is that just because Pledge says it's to be discarded when the collecting bin fills up, the fact is that it doesn't need to be, that it can be easily cleaned and used many more times.

The bigger issue is that the company should be held to account for urging people to toss this stuff so quickly, especially when we are in a place and time in this world that "disposable" is no longer acceptable to many people. We can manage product usage better; eventually everything is "dust to dust," but we can stretch that out, for the environment and for our own financial well-being.

I broke a tooth while eating Grape Nuts. I e-mailed the company and got a phone call offering to pay my Dentist bill..I thought that was nice of them..they also sent coupons.

I'm not one to run to large corporations with my hand out.
I did not ask, or infer to be repaid for my "failure to read directions."

In all the advertising Pledge does with this product, nowhere does it mention being a disposable product. I, as well as many others, (read the previous discussion on this topic) thought it was automatically a clean, and re-use item.

In this day and age, my hubby and I were both shocked to read that we were to throw it out.

The lady from Johnson mentioned that she is a cat owner as well, and she's going to bring it to their attention.

So there.

I'm with you jasdip I did the same thing bought one assuming it was reusable but never thought to express my disappointment to the co I bet yours was not the first letter they got like tht. We usually play nice here.

I have - in my hand right now - a Pledge Fabric
Sweeper for Pet Hair in it's box. On the front of
the box it says: "1 Multi-use Disposable Sweeper".

On the back of the box it says: "2. Simply throw the
sweeper away when it is full. The sweeper is full
when it picks up no more hair".

Pretty plain, I would say.

I stand by my original post -- "Only in America...."

I saw the Multi Use still room to complain about a one use product

I suppose the user is being charged for the convenience factor with the Pledge Fabric Sweeper. I do use disposable razors and other disposable products, but they do not seem so highly priced per use.
