Finally found Velleen

Long story short--Velleen & Vince are both in a Convalescent Home--She fell & broke her hip--Vince was going to visit her & he was in a pretty bad car accident--broke his shoulder, some ribs & his ankle. I just talked with her & she told me they are able to have all their meals together. She misses all her KT buddies very much!

Email sent, Donna. I am so glad you were finally able to make contact. It's the not knowing that's so hard. I pray that they both heal very rapidly. I'm happy they can at least be together daily.

Hi again. Sorry for the delay. Holiday madness struck! I ended up using the clear torpedos for a couple of reasons. The drippy tipped ones won't work with shades when I get them. And they were just the easiest to go with when I had a thousand other things to do to prepare for the parties I was hosting that week. DH installed a dimmer, and we were good to go! I can't explain how luxurious and grown-up I feel now with the light fixtures completed in this room! ( We'll ignore the rest of the bare bulbs hanging out around the house still. One room at a time!) Now all I need to do is get some sort of little backsplash on the bar area and find a couple more antique oak chairs and that room is DONE! Hydrangea--those clear bulbs in the photos above do have a bluish tint to them. They were those clean, bright white kind of bulbs that are tinted blue. Took them back! A2--I did see and posted there last night. Not sure I had much to add other than I'm so glad your ovens were quickly and easily fixed without much fuss! Jinx seeing the chairs alongside the room really helps...and interestingly, although almost everyone has said black would work no one has gone that route in suggestions, which helps too in a way. I have enough of the raw silk on those chairs by the mirror left to do these chairs, and it has a beautiful sheen that can throw off a bit of purple - but I am concerned about durability (see above) and being too matchy-matchy. I am surprised I also really do like the lighter white look when I see it next to the room, and totally forgot but am finally getting real grown up white silk drapes that will frame out those windows properly instead of sitting inside them - so maybe it would be better to coordinate with those? The fabric is a very subtle cream silk tone-on-tone stripe, but I could match the color with a more durable fabric. This is so much help- thank you all again for your time and suggestions here! I do have one more random question, only because you guys are familiar with the space. I have an old, wooden phone booth that belonged to my dad (he worked for Bell South for 30 years). It it VERY sentimental, it has traveled all over the country with me, and it is going in this space somewhere. It only fits in two places. I had intended to put it where that mermaid picture is, but then I bought that crazy huge carved Mexican bookcase. Is it going to make the room too heavy on that side to have two big, blocky pieces of furniture there? The only other place I have for it is in the entry, which means it would be the first thing you saw when you walked in the room.

Well that would give me pause too. There's a lot we don't know yet about about various microbes ... some of which are vital our very existence, some of which are not so good. Quite a broad brush to be "anti" about. A quick look shows that these coatings aren't uncommon, so hopefully they're been tested and are benign, but ... none of the flooring products are stating their EPA registration number, at least in the on line advertising. Can you find out the EPA Registration List number so you can look it up? I'd at least want to know what extra chemical I'm walking on in my own home. Probably it's fine but I wouldn't be happy about it on every floor in my home, either.

Pretty good I guess, but remember I have two big dogs sniffing around. It's easy to sweep. The cats sometimes really get into covering their mess up so some of it goes flying. It's good and saving a lot of money and I think the mail carrier will appreciate my change. lol It's easier to scoop too.

Oh, good to hear this....at least we know what's happening with them. I tried two email addresses I had for her, but they came back. I found their phone number on line, but hesitated to call.

Now I remember her eyes aren't good. I used to write to my Gramma (who had macular degeneration) with a black Sharpie pen and write large. Should we do that do you think?

No one was in the car with Vince that I know of!

I've sent their add out to all I received e-mails from--apparently some of your e-mails didn't get to me! arghh So, I'll try sending e-mails to you thru my page! Am I making sense? LOL

Oh sweet Valleen. So sorry to about their injuries. I'm glad they are ok though. I'd like to send a note too but I'm on my phone right now. I'll email when I get to my computer.

Oh dear! It's good to think of this sweet couple being together as they work at mending those ol' bones. I wish them all the best; I know this can't be an easy time for them.
