Please lift up me and my family in prayer

I'm mostly a lurker, but I know many of you are Prayer Warrier's, and we need your prayers.

DH owns a small business (himself, one full time person, and me part-time from home). His "loyal" employee of 8 years resigned 3-4 weeks ago. We realize now she has been sabotaging us...and worst of all - started her own company in direct competition with us. She, of course, had months to plan-contacting clients, blaming all errors on Don (my hubby) and gaining their loyalty.

This can devastate us if the revenue dips too low. Ex-employee is also a Christian, as are we, but right now I truly feel what she has done is not even remotely Christian (too many details to fill you in on). I wonder how she can sleep at night with some of what she did. Unethical!

We were able to hire someone (Mindy), and she has ALOT of potential. I believe she is a blessing, and business can even reach "the next level" with her. But, in the short-term we are scared and worried.

Please pray:

* that we get in adequate jobs this week

* that Mindy is given the opportunity to shine

* wisdom in dealing with the clients and each other

* and that we regain our business

I am so sorry! I'll remember you in my prayers. What a horrid thing for her to do. The good Lord will deal with her in His own time!

My X and I went through the same experience in 1984. It is painful to be sabataged like that.

Tanya, show up around lunch time or dinner so you can see & smell the food. If food is lousy clints don't enjoy life much. Place my mom was in, that I felt good about as it had good staff & good food is now serving sandwiches for lunch & even dinner. Yesterday it was grilled cheese for lunch & tuna salad sand. for dinner. Really well rounded meal. The juice, banana or milk they want to keep for later, they take away from them so now the residents are "hiding" food. Sad. GF called to tell me her dad is in there since Feb. 14 & can walk 200 ft. with walker. Broke hip. That's slow progress, now he has pneumonia. So that is going down hill along with rest of state. Someone thought Ca. was so advanced- Ha!!! We are behind on almost everything. Less cops,poor care of kids if in system, even lose some, used to turn them out when they turned 18 without even a suitcase. Now all kids no matter their age get at least that. Had nursing homes in private homes that were nice at 1 time but lot of them closed down as patients were abused &/or neglected so I thought things were getting better. Cuts are to the poor, disabled, children, gov't workers all still get cars, ins, credit card for gasoline,slush fund in their office & many other perks, don't know how they sleep at night. Anyway Tanya, look past the pretty stuff & try to get handle on what is going on, ask several residents how they like it. Hope you can find 1 nearby so it doesn't become a "day trip" just to go see him! Good Luck! Jan

Thank you everyone for all the prayers, good thoughts and kind words. The hearing went well but the ALJ (administrative law judge) did not give me his final decision, I'll have to wait for that, 6 weeks to 6 months. After nearly three years of waiting, what's another six months eh? Pfft..yeah right! LOL!! My son and his girlfriend are doing better. GF is going back to work on Monday and is feeling so much better. My son is up and using crutches some, I have heard. I've not been able to speak to him because his cell phone is shut off at the moment. Why do kids procrastinate such things?? His employer told him to heal well and not to come back to work until he is 100 %. He saw the film of the accident on the news so he knew it was bad already when DS called in. Anyway, I saw his father yesterday and he did not know if appointments for the specialist have been made or not. He was going to stop by and check in on them but I have not heard anything yet. I'll let you know when I know anything. Day two and still no lower back pain!! It's a miracle, I am just in awe over it. I always thought acupuncture was probably all in the mind but I was very wrong. I don't know how it works but I love what it has done for me in just two treatments!! I know it will be short lived but I am going to enjoy every second of it while I have it. My yard is calling to me but I am resisting so far. Actually I feel completely exhausted and I'm wondering if it is a reaction of my body because it has suddenly been relieved of the burden it has been under for so long. All day I just wanted to go in and lay down. Tomorrow, I think I'll give in to that feeling, if it is there again. Thanks for all the support. So sorry to hear he is in such discomfort. Wishing the best for the change in treatment. Last year around this time, my DD's good friend was going thru the same thing and due to an infection while her system was so low, we almost lost her. Many people on this forum were wonderful in their support at that time and I really believe all the positive energy helped her pull thru. She is now back at school (part time) and talking about taking part in a 24 hour relay fundraiser for cancer in the spring. Life is never the same for these kids, but their strength and resilience is amazing. I will pray for the best for your grandson.

Glad to hear the good news. I totally get the heart-stopping feeling. When my now 4 1/2 year old twin grandsons were born at 36 weeks, one spent 1 week in the NICU then another week in the step-down unit. The other twin had blood and bilirubin issues and spent 2 weeks in the NICU, where they performed a total blood transfusion at 8 days old, then 2 weeks in the step-down and then we spent the next year running back and forth to hematologists and pulmonologists. Oh Melody, I'm so sorry you are going through this mess. DH is self-employed, partners with an alcoholic brother, and it is no picnic but I can't imagine how betrayed you both must feel. You are definitely being prayed for here.

When problems present themselves, it is human nature to be afraid and imagine the worst possible outcome.

But ... the worst possible outcome very rarely occurs.

That disloyal employee is gone. Good riddance! "The truth will out" and any clients she gets will soon see that she is unethical. My hope for her is that she sees the "error of her ways," and straightens out.

You have your own solid business experience and Mindy's great potential as assets.

I know that your future will be even brighter than your past!

I am so sorry this has happened. We too have dealt with people like this over the years. She is not a Christian, but then God will protect you. I had this happened to me where I use to work, and over a very short time 3 bank managers and a supervisor lost their jobs, and I did nothing to cause this. Your clients will soon see what happened and the some will return. The others will be replaced by ones who do respect your work. Prayers and hugs and a soothing cup of tea.

We went through nearly the same thing a few years ago...with our sons business....his business partners called all the clients, told them the business had shut down and they were starting a new one...bad part for us was my husband had signed papers with his name as sole owner. Ours didn't bounce back...

So I know what you are experiencing....

I agree with what Petaloid said, good riddance and the traitor's true color will show through and any potential client she stole from you will see that soon and be back! Good luck to you! Keep working hard and good things will come to you.
