I remember the breakup of Eddie Fisher with Debbie Reynolds. The scandel of him with Liz Taylor. I was about 10 I think.

Omigoodness! That's strange. Last week when Eddie Fisher died and I heard it I immediately confused his face for a minute with Tony Curtis' - knowing full well the difference between their looks, etc. RIP Tony Curtis. I think that he and Jamie Leigh had mended their differences, hadn't they?

Failure to close the inner drum door is due to either clothing caught in it (overloaded, or a piece happens to fall askew when the drum begins rotating), or something is causing the sliding door to bind, or something is causing the drum to bind as it begins rotating. You can sort-of check for binding by manually rolling the drum forward. The inner door will be initially in open position, caught on the door grabber. The drum will slide under the door and the door will close and then rotate around with the drum (the grabber will be dragging on the outer surface of the drum but that's OK for this procedure). There will be some mild resistance to rolling the drum but not any obvious or excessive binding while the drum slides under the door to close. Continue to turn the drum until the door has come around to the top. Then reverse the direction so the door goes back around to be caught by the door grabber and opens again. Full access to the door grabber and drum door can be had by raising the machine top deck .... carefully pry out the lid bumpers near the front corners, remove the screws, then the top lifts up. Helpful to take off the machine lid first to get it out of the way. You can run the machine with the top raised to observe the drum and door operation ... but of course the lid must be in place and closed to trigger the lock. Keep hands clear from the drum when it's running!

$350 for a drum bearing? Last one I bought in Aug 2018 was $67 from Sears to refurb a used machine I found. Listed now $132 (crazy!), direct from F&P is $120. Regards to Fault 7, does the drum turn normally/easily by hand or is it in a bind? I've seen used motors at reasonable prices on eBay. Bought one as a spare last year. Assume it works but haven't tried it, the seller had cut the wires at the board connector plug (not shown in the pics) so I'd have to splice it in for a test. Broken agitator fins are fairly common but I've not had that happen to any of my 3 active machines (circa 1999 that nephew is using, my 2004, or the 2005 that I refurbed last year for my mother). A 4th washer that I bought used (with a matching TL dryer, I have three dryers now) does have all three fins broken but it's in *very* rough shape ... the display board came loose from the console mount, dropped down, the previous owners punched a hole through the button overly to poke the power button with a screwdriver or stick or whatever. Maybe they were washing rocks. I also have an AquaSmart washer that I bought used, refurbed and am using. So that makes five F&P washers (four in use, one wrecked) and three TL dryers (two in use, one needs clean-up).

Yes, a very sad day. Glad we had one last chance to see them one last time in September, 2015. Tickets went onsale when we were at a conference in San Diego, and what popped up were VIP second row with the opportunity to attend a soundcheck. So, $$$ but we felt it was something we could not give up. No cameras were allowed,--they watched everyone like a hawk, and DLR did not participate in the soundcheck, so it was only Eddie, Alex, and Wolf. (LOL, it was also apparent they traveled in separate buses). Anyways, to see him play that close, enjoying it, and making it look easy was pretty amazing. Other opportunities were we saw them in Oakland on my birthday in 2012 when we were there for my major conference in San Francisco, and then the Roth reunion tour in 2007 kicked off right here! Even MIL came along for that. My first show was in 1979. Check out this setlist If you are interested in early Van Halen, I know an academic historian, Greg Renoff, who's written a super interesting book, Van Halen Rising. I was able to get an autographed copy for DH.

I guess I was surprised he was older than my Hubs...by 1 year. He sure was busy at the marriage game. I did like his singing. RIP Eddie

He was 82. He was known more as a singer than actor. I remember him in the various scandals with the wives. And of course he was the father of Princess Leia.

I actually forgot all about him since he hasn't been in the news. I'm sure all sides of the family are grieving for him.
He was a big heart throb in my day but I never paid much attenetion to him.

The announcement of his death on the radio included a clip from an adult Carrie Fisher praising Liz Taylor for removing Eddie Fisher from her household!

He was very popular when I was in high school circa 1953-1955. As I recall he was one of the first singers to have a tv show all his own back when tv was "new" to the masses. I think it ran for 15 minutes & was sponsored by Coca-Cola.

He was popular for a time as a singer, that's true. But eventually, he was passe and no one was interested in him. I remember he sued Liz for alimony.

How I cried over that in early teen years, shortly after mother & father separated & divorced. First song I ever really heard on radio and identified with for life! To this day (55-60 yrs later) my kids still tease me about this music... gags them :-)

DH and I saw Eddie Fisher in Las Vegas for the midnight show....he put on the best show. That was in 1962 and even though we have been to headliner shows since, his show still stands out.
