Opinions on Grants new room decor

I'm in the process of figuring out how to decorate Grant's new big boy room (he's moving to a new room so his current room can remain the nursery).

I have this furniture coming next week, minus the trundle bed you see in this picture (his bed is just open underneath):

And I ordered this bedding:

The bedding doesn't have any other matching pieces, such as sheets or window treatments so I have to come up with my own.

His walls are going to be painted a neutral beige color. I know there's no beige in the bedding set but I dont want blue walls and I think beige will be neutral enough and can grow with him even if we change the bedding.

What I'm trying to figure out is what to do with window treatments. There are white wooden blinds on the window that will remain so I'm looking for something decorative. A valance of some sort, but what I'm torn about is color. I was considering just doing solid red sheets and a red valance (with maybe a blue border or accent along the bottom or something maybe??) of some sort (or roman shade or something). Do you think solid red is too bold and/or plain? If I try to match the fabric to make something myself, it would need to be almost identical or it will drive me crazy, and I'm not so sure I could match it that closely.

I figured if I did red, I would do a red lamp shade too(I have a brushed stainless nightstand lamp that matches the hardware on the dresser).

So what do you think?
