I recently bought a new Logitech mouse that I love because it has back and forward buttons on the side. The back button is wonderful, especially for forums, because of all the opening and closing of posts.

I agree that the assortment is mind-boggling!

logitech M510 for me....no complaints

When I got my laptop last year, I added a wireless mouse. Unfortunately the wireless little adapter burned out within 4 weeks, and the replacement did the same.

I then just used the mouse pad on the laptop, but I don't really like it.

Finally when I found my trackball from the old computer I started using it at times, just don't take it with me, when I leave home with the laptop.

Never a problem with the trackball which is not wireless.

I bought Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard about a year ago, they both still work fine.

I use laptops, and since my arthritic hands are not good enough to use the built in mouse pad, ...... a little over a year ago, I bought a Microsoft Wireless mobile mouse 4000.

Uses a single AA battery, great battery life, has a tiny little transceiver that connects to the laptop via USB and only sticks out 1/2".

Large enough to rest my hand on, and sensitive enough that I can use my thigh as a mouse pad.

Longest life I have ever had for a wireless mouse, use bluetooth sensor, and I see they are still selling them on Amazon for under $20.00.

I recently bought a wireless HP with a scroll wheel. Some of the colors were fun, I guess, but since I don't have petite hands, I chose the one that felt the most comfortable to hold.

Monica, I could kiss you for the suggestion of using my thigh as a mouse pad. For a while now, I've been trying to find a more comfortable position. Just tried this and it works!! :)

My vote would be for the Logitech M-510.

I have a Logitech M305. It's pretty streaky blue with some black and purple design on it. Got it because both kids needed new mice for their computers a few years ago and we happened to be in Reno when they brought it up. So, we went shopping at a Best Buys there. I got mine just for the heck of it.

I like a wired mouse, non-retractable. I've been looking at the 5 button or more for the back/forward buttons but don't really need it with Opera since Opera has the one button keys. Z & X keys are back and forward so I just use my hand rather than the mouse.

I did buy a 5 button mouse but don't use it because it's too big and clumsy for use with the notebooks. If I used a desktop unit, it'd be OK.

I've quit buying expensive mouses. Cheap ones last me as long as expensive ones do. I don't care about color.

But yes, the selection is approaching crazy!

I use a wireless microsoft mobile mouse 6000 (bluetrack light)for a couple years. Works great anywhere. On my thigh on the couch on granite on my shaglike carpet! I recall it was about 20 some bucks at best buy. Love it.

I bought a cheap little Kensington Mouse-in-a-Box Optical 2 USB mouse last week, and it works fine. I think I paid $12 for it.

Logitech M215 here, wireless, scroll wheel, works well on a pad or a leg, as long as there is fabric there. It plugs into the USB slot with a tiny little remote thingie, works great. Got it at Wal Mart.

I use a mouse for my laptop that was purchased at Wal-mart for less than $10. Not wireless but that doesn't make a difference to me. There is no ball on the bottom just a red light.

The number of choices we have for just about everything is beyond ridiculous. I just can't get over the cereal aisle at the grocery store.

If you happen to have a big lots store near you they have name brands including logitec and MS for under $10 very nice ones in various colors and flavors. I buy a lot of electronics there.

I started using a special mouse that keeps the hand in a more natural handshake position which has helped my carpal tunnel immensely, since then I have had my husband and several of my friends that ordered them too. I will not use anything else now.

We have really enjoyed ours and mine have lasted many years now, I have 2 of them in pink and my husband has 2 in the black one at work. I definitely recommend them if you have any type of hand issues, it is much easier for me with my arthritis and other hand problems. Plus the price on them is not bad, you can google it for the best price.

Because they are so cheap, I used to buy Logitech mice, but got tired of replacing them as they stopped working.
I don't know if I ever got even a year out of them.

I love my Logitech trackball wired to my PC.

For my Netbook I use a little Logictech V220 Wireless for travel. It's small but has a full size "feel". All we use are Logitech. I never buy in stores. All my net gear and tech stuff I get online.

It's coming to be fall - the mouses are about ready to come into the houses again, usually in substantial numbers.

(Or is that, "mice into the hice"?).

When I replaced my mouse a couple of years ago, I kept it simple and went with a MicroSoft optical mouse, full size, with tail (cord) - no batteries, no fuss. it has a scroll Wheel and one side button. I use the scroll wheel a lot; don't use the side button. I did not install the driver tht came with it, but used the generic driver that was already in Windows. that way, the side button does not work and I don't get bothered with accidentals clicks on it. Anytime I want to activate it, I'll install the driver.

It has served me well. I've clicked the left button so often that the finish on the plastic has worn off. The optical sensor has no moving parts and rarely wears out. The wear out items are the button switches. The sensor on this mouse will work on my pant leg and many other surfaces. Optical mice works best on surfaces that have an even, finely spaced pattern. I am finding that the regular mouse pad made by Allsop works well.

In the bag with my laptop, I have a minature version of an optical mouse. It works, but after many years using a full size mouse, I find it ackward and revert to the standard mouse (also stored in the bag).
