We used to say calling in sick when you just didn't want to work was called "A Mental Health Day." I remember once, I called in sick, later that day I went to the mall and who should I meet? My office secretary/timekeeper! We both had a good laugh!

I think bulldinkie and jannie gave the right answer, but the next best answer would be stealing from our employer, whether it be 'time' by playing on the computer, or actual theft of material things.

Used some embellishments on the resume.

Tell those at home you have to work late, then go somewhere else. maybe shopping, to a movie or have an after work toddy.

Job hunt on company time and/or computers.
