Daughter's 16th Birthday tomorrow 8/23

Many of you don't know me, but I have been a member of this forum for as long as I can remember! Many,many years to be exact! I don't post very often but ALWAYS come here to read and smile!

I was wondering if I might ask a favor of as many people that would be willing? Tomorrow(8/23) is my beautiful daughter's 16th birthday. Could I trouble any of you to post birthday wishes to her? It would mean the world to me. She's a wonderful girl with a heart of gold and would get a kick out of this! If I was anywhere near computer savvy I'd post a picture, but for now you'll just have to take the word of her "unbiased" mom!

Good Friday morning!!! Donna, ((((((HUGS)))))) sorry the news isn't so great about your dad but I am glad he has mostly good days. I hope you all will be able to enjoy what time he has left and not see him in pain. I am glad he has good pain meds and that you like the oncologist. As of this morning I am looking for a new vet. I love this one and do trust her opinion and she is an excellent vet except......her bedside manner. She was over two hours late (not unusual and I understand) but she roars in jumps out and starts sticking my animals with needles! Okay, I had a few minutes to discuss my concerns over the vaccinations. She agreed to let me split them up in two visits so that the immune system wouldn't be so shocked! That just indicates to me that she is aware of the issues I am bringing up! She never took vitals - this is an annual visit mind you- and the only place she touched them was at the vaccination sites! She will be back next week to do the second half but after that I don't know what I am going to do. She just isn't warm and fuzzy around my horses and they react to her is a tense and stressed out manner. Enough said on that!! My girlfriend whose mare got her shots yesterday (all at once) is having a bad reaction and isn't eating! I hope she will be alright. The rest of the afternoon was glorious however. The weather has turned absolutely spectacular and DH and I enjoyed the afternnon outside with the animals ( I groomed because they are shedding like crazy) and our neighbor came over with out of town company to see the animals and DH brought the donkeys out for them to play with. All the while, momma fox was in the back of the field playing with her two kits AND another full grown fox was there too! We think it might be the sire as sometime the male fox will stay around to assist in the rearing of the kits but not always. Mind you this is an uneasy relationship because I have chickens that they would love. The chicks are secured however and the fox is smart enough to know she can't get them. Anyway, it was a splendid afternoon. I hope you all have a chance to check in. QOD: What's up for this weekend?

Good Sunday morning from SUNNY NH!! The rain has finally stopped for the time being. The water from the brook that borders our property is uncomfortably high. The danger of major flooding is still here as some major dams have yet to reach the highest point yet. We now have majorly high winds, about 50mph gusts so we can expect lots of power outages and downed trees. I did however witness a magnificent double rainbow yesterday afternoon as the sky was clearing! It was spectacular and I hope to get a nice picture of it. There was also a beautiful near full moon that I haven't thought about in over a week! Proof that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Patti, that's sage advice. DH and I always come to the conclusion that we are stronger together than apart and that we can get through anything together. We had friends come up from Westport, CT yesterday and it took them from 10am to 4pm because of all the detours. I91 was closed down in both directions! They probably wished they stayed home but we all had a lovely dinner together! Gretchen, I am thinking of you and your sister and hope all went well with her sugery. Check in when you can. It is a bizarre gift. But my SD's mother started a custody battle on her 8th birthday, abandoned her later that year, did nothing for her 9th birthday (after she promised she would.. she actually went out & left SD with a babysitter the day that she had told SD they would celebrate; yet she celebrated her BF's kids' birthdays which are in the same month as SD), she actually got her on her 10th birthday but didn't do any of the stuff she had promised, left early & had SD's grandma drop her off to us in tears, and for her 11th birthday I sucked it up & invited BM to the party I made for her... BM was 40 minutes late (we had the room for 60 minutes), didn't bring her a gift & when SD asked her to spend an hour with her after the party, BM said no. It's heart wrenching to watch a mother hurt & torture her child like that, yet I have to grasp onto the positives... like her mom actually came to her party. It's hard. I come here & vent, it must seem like I hate BM & she will never do anything right in my eyes... but I know that's not true. It isn't MY eyes that matter... and her relationship with her daughter is HERS. She is making it what it will be & there's nothing anyone can do about it. Yes, it still makes me angry to see the pain she causes SD. It really makes me angry when SD's reactions to it, cause ME grief & it affects MY relationship with SD. Again, there isn't a lot I can do about it. I would look at the flowers as a positive... at least she gave an acknowledgment. How he feels about that, is going to determine his own relationship with his own mother. You and your DH can make the day special for him but you cannot make up for his mother's shortcomings by making a bigger fuss. Make the bigger fuss because it's his special day & you love him, but you can't do anything about what his mother does or doesn't do. I know that's hard... sometimes we have to stop & keep reminding ourselves of it... daily... minute by minute.

Happy sixteenth birthday! Guess a driver's license will be next. It sure it nice to hear about a lovely daughter and how much her mother loves her. You are both very lucky people. Have a wonderful birthday and a wonderful junior year in high school, which must be starting very soon. If you work hard, it just gets better every year.

Happy Birthday sweetie!! Mom sorry but it goes down hill from here before you realize it you will be shedding tears like me when she goes off to college! Hugs and Daughter love your momma hug her.....when you leave it will be hard on her and it goes soooo much faster then you think.....Stacy
