My friend has passed away.....

I am just a bucket of tears, I am sad, but also relieved.

Thank you all for your wishes of a gentle passing.

It was all meant to be I suppose.

Another good friend from school called me and we decided we would exchange emails about all the fun we had with her.

To keep her alive in a sense. Mostly for our healing I am sure.

There are more of her escapades than I can imagine, she was a very colorful person....and will be missed dearly..

This is the fourth time I've signed into Gardenweb to say something about Lynn since Nelson called me 10 hours ago with the devastating news. Each time I typed a message and deleted it because it was not worthy of Lynn. I knew how to honor Lynn all along, I was just too upset to recall what needed to be said. HONOR and COMMITMENT! Lynn lived one of the honorable lives of anyone I have ever known. In this world of disposable everything, Lynn lived her most sacred wedding vows: in sickness and in health, as long as we both shall live. She barely left Phil's side during his long illness. She ignored her own health while caring for Phil, even when friends and family urged her to see a doctor or take a break. Phil wanted her by his side and she was committed to be there. I think this is the biggest reason why I personally admired Lynn. She did not take her commitment to Phil and her marriage lightly. She talked about Phil often and you could tell she loved him dearly. That is a memory Lynn's family can cherish and we should all strive to match in our lives. God has a new angel at his side, an angel we were too unwilling to share with him so soon. - Terry

I don't deal well with with losses like that, and so I do understand your numbness and send you my condolence. I lost a lot of friends who were in the 30s and 40s, and so by now I am beginning to feel that reaching 60 is adequate, but I know that is wrong. One friend in his 40s died suddenly of a brain aneurysm while I was in the middle of preparing an astrological reading for him. When I noticed that he had a very exact Mars-Uranus conjuction in the 8th House (Death), I called him to set up an appointment to warn him to be careful when he had transits of that conjuction, as it could mean a sudden unexpected death. I'm so sorry for your loss. The hole where someone loved was is too hard to bear sometimes. My sister has made 4 attempts since she was 16 and still lives. She's 65 yrs old now. Each time we came home early from a trip or a friend stopped by on time for serious medical intervention. She's always had constant loving care and lives with my other sister so as said above when someone spirals in that direction there is not stopping them. We have been lucky but who knows if that will continue. :(

Oh Trin..I am so sorry for those she's left behind, but I'm also relieved her suffering is over! That and the wonderful memories has to bring comfort to those that love her.

Such a mixed blessing, Trin, I know.

I'm so sorry that she's gone, much too early and from something so nasty. I'm thankful you had at least a little time to get prepared for it, but I know that it's never long enough.

She is home now and will suffer no more. For that we must be thankful, yet it hurts to lose anyone we love. Luckily memories don't die, so hang on to all of those precious ones you have.

Trin, I;m so very sorry. Not to hijack your thread, but having recently gone through the same thing with my DDIL, I know the feeling. Thank you all for your heart felt thoughtfulness. It is so hard to lose someone. Such a void is left.
I remember when we all used to hang out together at her house in Portland. We were all hairdressers by then, and worked around town at different shops. Marcella was always thin by nature, and she would always eat Twinkies to try and put on weight. She LOVED Twinkies. And they were affordable back in those days. Most people went to the kitchen for a glass of water, she would go and get a Twinkie. So often in fact, like a mother hen, her roomate would hear Marcella in the kitchen, and without even looking up say "stay out of the Twinkies Marcella." She could easily consume a box a day. But then have no room left in her tiny belly for some "real food."
We dubbed her "Twinkie" ever after.

One less flower growing in the garden in Portland Oregon today.

I'm so so sorry that your friend lost her battle with cancer. You are right, there is a special bond created when you are friends with someone you went to school with. I am glad for you that you have many memories of your times with her to help mend your broken heart.
