Have never tried that but did do it where you break an egg into a glass dish, break the yolk and cook it a time (don't remember how long)
I have an electric egg cooker that cooks 7 at a time I really like it. I think it is Black and Decker. It is so easy.

Not me, I want the flavor of the bacon grease while I listen to my arteries snapping closed. LOL

I've never boiled them in the microwave, but I tried them scrambled for the first time last week when I ran out of propane. They were surprisingly good.

I've scrambled them up and placed in a microwaveable dish that has been smeared with buttter and they come out ok they puff up then sink a few swishes with the fork and they are ready to eat.

I have been doing my eggs in the microwave for a long time. I have these 2 plastic egg cups with lids that have holes in them. Put a little salt in the cup, put the egg in and microwave. Sometimes I cook them until the yolks are hard and dice them for an egg salad sandwich. I suppose I could put them in potato salad but haven't tried it yet.

Yes, I do it all the time, in fact, the only way I do it.
I use a small tupperware container, any plastic container will work. Spray with Pam or rub with butter, break the eggs into the dish. I never do over 3 at the time. Cover with paper towel and microwave for 1 minute, check them, microwave for another minute. Usually 2 minutes will cook the 3 eggs. I then chop them the size I need for potato salad or finer for chicken salad. Good luck!!

This brought back a memory of when microwaves were first becoming popular. One of my secretaries at the time bought a microwave through a co-worker who worked for a microwave manufacturer. Even with the discount it was somewhere around $500 at the time! A few months later I bought a "cheap" microwave (still about $300 while the last one I bought was $19!), took a microwave cooking class from the dealer and was enjoying having one. Then one day I was over at her apartment and she was talking about how dumb her son was, he tried to cook eggs in the microwave. I had just taken the class and they cooked eggs in there. Crack the egg into a greased custard cup puncture the yolk and cook 1.5 minutes on defrost. I said how well it worked at the class and she said "THEY DIDN'T COOK THEM IN THE SHELL!!!"

Yes, she used a scraper to chip the egg out of the oven.

But I have to agree, there's nothing like the bacon grease flavor! As Emeril says, pork fat rules.

As far as the link about cooking them, seems to me it takes less time to do it on the stove than the way they suggested. I do the bring it to a boil, turn off the heat and let them set about 12 minutes and they're hard cooked. (FWIW you should never boil eggs anyway according to many people.)

How many people steam eggs? I've heard that's the best way to go. Never tried it.
