Look what I got today!

I was taking the puppy out this morning, slipped and fell, sprained my ankle, broke a bone in my foot, and took the skin off of my other knee. Puppy is fine.

Sorry about your ankle & foot. Try to take it easy. How long do you have to be on the crutches?

I am glad you got some rain, too.A little fell here, too, but not enough to help this hard ground here, but,just got a weather bullentin that severe storms with hail and high winds are on the way.I can do without the hail and wind,but the rain is much needed. I just love that SURF. its gorgeous,and so is VERY BERRY ICE.LOve them Bi Tones.maybe some day I will have a couple/Your blooms looks so pretty with the rain drops on them.Love it. Jean

I think it's this particular forum, because sometimes I can see them and sometimes I can't. They're still over at Photobucket. I didn't take them off from there. I have some of the same pics posted over at Gardenjunk and they're perfectly fine, and they're also from Photobucket. Do you just have to wear a bandage, or do you have to have a full cast? I don't envy you, I'd be a worse klutz hobbling around on crutches and a cast/heavy bandage. Good thoughts coming your way Teri.

Splinted right now until the swelling goes down, then a cast. Taking Bella out with crutches is definitely going to be interesting!

When I did that dance, they had me wear an air cast. It was much better than all the bandages, because I could take it off to take a bath, and at night in bed. Ask the ortho about it--it was my orthopedic surgeon who gave it to me. Take care of yourself!

Drats! I was hoping you got a new car or a winning lotto ticket! Hope the leg heals quickly... it doesn't sound like fun to have to use crutches.

Well, that's not what I expected to see! Do be very careful on the crutches. The tip of the crutch can slip if you come to a wet place. If the tips are old, they won't hold well either. You can get new tips at a good pharmacy. I was on crutches for many months. The only good thing is they build your upper body strength.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Take it easy.

I didn't know puppies were so dangerous. My friend has a cocker spaniel puppy and she fell and badly bruised herself and broke her wrist walking her teeny, tiny dog. Sorry about your accident. Hope you heal quickly.

I was so excited about opening this to see what you had that I could enjoy vicariously through you. Ok - not so much. I've been there and it isn't enjoyable.

Hope your news is good and you recover quickly.

Like wanda when I did it I wore an air cast (for 4 months - it was a reeeeaaaaly bad sprain and I tore a bunch of ligaments in the ankle). But that won't be your case.

That's certainly not what I expected! I was on crutches as a kid and I remember my armpits hurt worse then my sprained ankle!!

Hope you are feeling better asap!

It's the 'broke a bone in my foot' part that concerns me most. You might want to line up someone to help with the dog. This could take a while to heal. Nice timing, huh? Hoping you heal FAST!

Sorry you got hurt. My only suggestion is, keep your foot elevated as much as you can. It will speed healing and help with the pain.

My goodness! That is not what I was expecting! I am so sorry that you got injured so badly. Be careful with the crutches! I've never been able to "navigate" very well with them. I will be happy to puppy-sit Bella while you heal if you want to ship her to me! Sending good thoughts for speedy healing.

Big foot: Plan on 4 to 6 weeks for a broken bone. You got a sprain and a break- wow! That must have been a land of hurt.

I hope you heal quickly. I am desperately afraid of falling especially when I walk the two dogs for three miles. I usually walk one and husband does the other one but today he was busy. They are 27 pounders and the Dachshund is low to the ground and is easy to trip over if I'm not paying attention. I have two friends right now in the hospital from falls like yours...one broke a leg, the other ripped up her knee so they're doing a replacement.
