What's for dinner Thursday?

Tonight we're having chicken with gravy, stuffing and cooked carrots. The gravy is from broth I made from the rotisserie chicken I got a Sam's. Ditto the chicken.

I've been cleaning and putting stuff away. I swear Harry will lay one item each on anything that is cleared off. I let it go for a few days and, boy, it showed. All nice and neat again. Steamed the kitchen and Florida room floors. Took a nice nap. How was your day and what are you eating tonight?

Jubilee Joe's with friend: I had a cup of cajun crab bisque and a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo, no rice. $6 total for the two.

She had fried flounder fingers, homemade potato chips, and a cup of seafood gumbo and a beer.

Her first time and she fell in love with the place.

I made the recipe in the below link and it was pretty awesome, but then it's kind of hard to go wrong when that much cream is involved. And a not inconsiderable amount of butter as well. Here is a link that might be useful: Creamy chicken and mushrooms

You need to share the citrus dressing recipe ; it sounds good. Fixed a good salad with mixed greens and all kinds of stuff, lol. Robert didn't want ginger dressing again, so I whipped up creamy green goddess type of concoction.....then put our leftover salmon from last night on top. I am going to have to get some asparagus!

wow, chicken livers... haven't had them in a LONG time. Sauteed chicken livers used to be a comfort food for me! Most people I know now would rather starve than be forced to eat a chicken liver. I can't imagine a restaurant selling them. lol! Great. Now I'm craving either chicken liver, beef liver, or liverwurst. ;p Good thing I have a chocolate cake in the oven! :)

Lots of variety for dinner this evening! Shirley, I love days that have no interruptions. Even days that I plan to stay home and get caught up on things, there are usually reasons to head out or someone comes over. Stuffed peppers sure sound good! Pam a BLT is good anytime. That's usually what hubby orders when we go out for breakfast (he doesn't do eggs) Angela we had corn on the cob on the weekend and nuked it with the husks on. Have you tried that? OF we were in a store today and the Halloween stuff was out along with back-to-school supplies. Rhizo, I love the sound of your dinner every time you have that! B.e. peas I doubt I would like but that would be easy to leave out. I remember you said once it was a mix that you buy. Phyllis, eating frozen grapes made me smile, then I saw the radish sandwich. I feel sorry for you LOL. Maybe we should all send you a bit of our dinners, and you'd have a feast! KIttiemom, everytime I see you having shrimp scampi I want it. But we never buy shrimp. I'm going to have to just buy a bag of frozen ones once and for all and make it. :)

I walked 18 holes of golf. We played our longest walking course today. Some people say it's 7 miles walking. I think it's closer to 5 or 6. Lots of hills so a challenging walk. I always feel like it's a great accomplishment when I'm done. It was a particular challenge today because I was playing in a threesome and the other two were riding in a cart. It's a bit much trying to keep up with them. Fortunately they were pretty chatty today and weren't driving like they were on a speedway. LOL Stayed for lunch afterwards having the salad plate with several scoops of chicken salad, tossed green salad and fruit salad. It was good and I could have (should have) skipped dinner but DH still had to eat. Finally got around to the shrimp remoulade and fried green tomatoes. I just had a small portion. I'm heading out now to play Mexican train. Have a good evening Ya'll.

We are doing some renovating, replacing the entry door in the garage and to the basement so we cleaned up the mess from that. Also replaced a toilet so got that loaded into the car to go to the dumpster guy, along with the old doors.

Had pork chops, home grown brusselsprouts, a fried green tomato, asparagus and a tomato and cucumber salad. Yum!

You sure got your exercise today, Georgysmom. Your weather must be getting cooler to be able to walk that far.

Don't know about you, but I'm ready for bed already!
